On November 30, in honor of Giving Tuesday, Realty Austin donated $125,000 to local charities across the greater Austin community.
All of the funds donated this week will fund numerous essential services benefiting more than 1,000 children, families, and individuals in the area.
“This is truly all because of our amazing team of agents and staff,” said Yvette Flores, Realty Austin co-founder. “The funds that they donate from their commissions and salaries are what enable us to do this work in the community.”

Since 2012, Realty Austin agents and staff have donated over $2.3 million to address the affordable housing crisis in Austin. They’ve also donated more than 26,000 volunteer hours to build homes, serve meals, and give back to our community.

“Writing a check is not enough for me, it should not be enough for anybody,” Flores explained in a recent interview with Austin Woman Magazine. “We’re all put on this earth to do big things and to help each other out.”

Giving Tuesday was founded upon the idea that everyone has something special to give to their community. From a friendly word to a small act of kindness, we all have something that we can contribute to the world. There are numerous ways that you too can give back to our neighbors in need this holiday season, including:
- Making a monetary donation and/or donating household supplies, holiday gifts, and non-perishable food items to Foundation Communities in support of their Holiday Assistance program
- Donating to the SAFE Alliance’s Holidays program or hosting an event benefiting the SAFE Alliance
- Making a monetary or in-kind donation to the Jeremiah Program or follow them on Facebook
- Donating directly to Community First! Village and/or attending their Holiday Market
- Donating directly to Central Texas Table of Grace or volunteering for their Holiday Fun or Grace365 programs
And each of these organizations offers various volunteer opportunities throughout the year in addition to these fundraising events. So subscribe to the newsletters of Foundation Communities, the SAFE Alliance, Community First Village, or Central Texas Table of Grace and follow them on social media to learn more about other ways you can give back all year round!
At the heart of Realty Austin’s core values is the belief that all Austinites should have access to safe, affordable housing. Visit ouraustinpledge.com to learn more about our work in the community.
