WHAT IS TOUCH-A-TRUCK?
Touch-A-Truck is a family-friendly event that provides an opportunity for kids of all ages to come to Camp Mabry and explore the vehicles they’ve seen in movies, books, and just driving around town. The large open field of Camp Mabry provides space not only for a variety of trucks, but you can also find live music, local food vendors, and even a petting zoo! This year’s event was attended by hundreds of children from all around the greater Austin area and helped raise over $100,000 for the SAFE Alliance! And these funds will go a long way in providing children and families with everything from counseling to transitional housing and emergency shelter.
ABOUT SAFE
SAFE is a human service agency serving the survivors of child abuse, sexual assault and exploitation, and domestic violence in Austin. The overarching mission of the SAFE Alliance is to Stop Abuse For Everyone — regardless of race, sex, gender, sexual orientation, or immigration status. SAFE shares our belief that everyone deserves a safe place to call home and the work that they do in our community is essential to the survivors in our community.
