Realty Austin Helps Foundation Communities Raise Over $775,000 for Affordable Housing Programs

AUSTIN, TX— On Tuesday, October 19, Realty Austin and Foundation Communities came together to celebrate resilience, hope, and community at this year’s Welcome Home Luncheon. Residents from multiple communities throughout the area spoke about their individual journeys as well as what the support each of them has found in their  Communities has meant to them and their families.

In an effort to inspire others to support this transformative work, for the tenth year in a row, Realty Austin has set up a $75,000 match fund to help multi-year donors’ donation dollars go even further. 

“The funds that our amazing team of Realty Austin agents help to raise each year make all of our work in the community possible,” Yvette Flores, Realty Austin co-founder said, “I’m so grateful for this remarkable group of generous and compassionate leaders!”

Thanks in no small part to our team of awesome agents, Foundation Communities raised more than $775,000 at this year’s event!

Since 1990, Foundation Communities has been building and expanding a strong foundation upon which families can succeed. They’ve made it their mission to provide affordable, attractive homes and free on-site support services for thousands of families with kids, as well as veterans, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Since opening its doors, the local nonprofit has housed over 6,000 families and individuals within its 23 affordable housing communities. And in this year alone, Foundation Communities has housed over 1,000 of our formerly unhoused neighbors — over 300 of which are children.

“My passion..for the last 25 years, has been to create really amazing, affordable housing that can serve as a foundation for families to succeed,” Walter Moreau, Executive Director of Foundation Communities, said. “I want to make a real difference and help families in need in Austin,” Moreau said, “and we depend on individual donations from big-hearted, forward-thinking community members like you!”
