Realty Austin agents, family and friends donate over $50k to Central Texas Food Bank
Realty Austin calls on the community to help raise $25,000 for the Central Texas Food Bank in order to provided emergency assistance and help feed or neighbors in need.

The realities of the COVID-19 pandemic hit close to home for many Central Texans. With increased unemployment, the Central Texas Food Bank has seen a sharp increase in the need for assistance.
We’re happy to report, in partnership with its agents and staff, Realty Austin surpassed their fundraising goal of $25k in support of the Central Texas Food Bank. But it doesn’t stop there! In addition, the brokerage pledged to match the fund, donating an additional $25k to the Central Texas Food Bank on Thursday, April 23, making all campaign donations twice as meaningful. Yvette Flores, Co-Owner of Realty Austin, gratefully gives thanks to participating community donors. “We can not say thank you enough to our amazing agents, friends, family, and everyone in the community that donated so that nobody goes hungry in Central Texas during these uncertain times.”
New restrictions have caused the Central Texas Food Bank to dramatically change the way they run its program. Traditionally, the nonprofit would receive food donations from grocery stores and other retailers but with resources not being available to donate, the Central Texas Food Bank has had to purchase the majority of food on its own. These changes paired with an increased need for food among Central Texans out of work have led to specialized drive-through distribution systems around Central Texas. Those in need can ride through, pop their car trunk, and receive a 28 lb “Emergency Food Box” including things such as whole wheat pasta, peanut butter, rice, tuna, or chicken as well as fruits and vegetables.
Monetized community donations have played a huge role in providing these emergency food boxes. Consider making a donation today to help us feed our neighbors in need.
