The San Antonio housing market continues to rise in competition as home sales in May increase by 27% year-over-year with fewer listings on the market. 3,669 homes were sold in the San Antonio area, as inventory decreased by 2.0 months to 1.3 months. Home sales averaged $341,853 with a median price of $282,400. 

“Home sales have continued to outpace last year and inventory still remains low at just 1.3 months available,” said Cher Miculka, SABOR’s 2021 Chairman of the Board. “Homebuyers need to be prepared to move quickly on a home they are interested in.”

Things are still moving quickly in the San Antonio housing market, even as experts point to a shift. Homes spent an average of 31 days on the market, which is 7 days less than in April 2021.

According to data from the San Antonio Board of REALTORS® (SABOR), the month of April showed a slight dip in home sales for the San Antonio area (which mirrors what we are seeing in Austin). 3,255 homes were sold in April 2022 compared to 3,524 in April 2021, which is a 7.6% decrease.
