“I’ve been in apartments almost all my life,” said future homeowner, Nina Cavazos, “I’m super excited and I just want to say thank you to everyone that’s going to help out.”
Realty Austin has pledged to volunteer over 2,500 hours and donate $100,000 in order to make the dream of homeownership a reality for the Nina Cavazos Family.
“I consider myself to be very lucky to work with the amazing people at Habitat for Humanity,” says Realty Austin co-founder Yvette Flores. “It gives me an opportunity to use the gifts that I’ve been given to help our community.”
From newborns and growing gardens to weddings and graduation ceremonies, each of the homeowners who Realty Austin has served over the years has all built something special upon the fresh start their new homes offered. Now, the Realty Austin team looks ahead to a new home build benefiting another local family. Over the next fifteen weeks, 350 volunteers from Realty Austin will work alongside the future homeowner to build a new home.
"We know that having a home means stability and a place for her family to plant their roots,” says Flores. "And on behalf of everyone at Realty Austin, we can’t wait to see how this amazing family continues to grow."
