Westwood is located between MoPac and 360, also bordered by Bee Caves, Las Lomas, and Westlake Hills. It’s about 15 miles to the airport and about five miles west of downtown.
Westwood is in Old Westlake in the heart of Austin. It has a quaint community but yet urban feel. People are drawn here due to the beautiful tree-lined streets, location, schools, and lifestyle. It is a community of about 250 homes and the lot sizes average from about 1/3 to 1/2 acre.
The style of homes vary, from most being older, traditional ranch-style one-stories all the way to newer, modern and contemporary houses. Some homes have views of downtown or could have views with new construction.
Westwood has a great community feel. It’s an active neighborhood with a list-serve, book clubs, wine gatherings, and a Halloween party.
Eanes Elementary is located off Bee Caves Road and is one of the most unique campuses in Eanes ISD. It is said that coming to school at Eanes is like coming to school in a park. The outdoor campus promotes a healthy learning environment.
Westwood feeds into Hill Country Middle School which is located off of Walsh Tarlton. Westlake High School is located off West Bank and is ranked among the 100 Best High Schools in the country. Ninety-five percent of their graduating class continues on to college. Westlake football games are very popular and a lot of fun to attend.
Westwood is in a great location. It’s within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and West Bank Market. Nearby is a popular food trailer park, Midway. It has a lot of great food trailers, live music on certain nights, and a playscape for the kids.
A short drive away is Zilker Park, which is known for music festivals like ACL and Blues on the Green. Kayaking and paddle boarding is also available on Lady Bird Lake.
Lake Austin also has places where you can launch your boat, do some skiing or wake surfing and have a bite to eat at Hula Hut.
