The Westlake Peninsula area contains the area of the Westlake neighborhood from The High Rd to Loop 360 along Westlake Drive and the Lake Austin shoreline. The area is filled with the most beautiful waterfront properties in the city, including homes, condos and marinas.

Westlake Peninsula Amenities

Near the neighborhood are shops and restaurants in Davenport Village and the Westlake Village. Also enjoy the amenities on the lake including the Lake Austin Marina for water sport and boating rentals, and restaurants including Hula Hut, Ski Shores and Mozart's Cafe.

Westlake Peninsula Schools

Eanes Independent School District is the only 5A district in the state of Texas to have achieved the Exemplary rating for all six of its elementary schools, both of its middle schools, and its sole high school. There are over 7,000 students enrolled in Eanes ISD. The Eanes community is dedicated to the educational excellence of its schools and is committed to preparing students for success by engaging them in competitive, rigorous, and enriching academic experiences. Eanes ISD is known for meeting each student's needs with a comprehensive curriculum.

Westlake Neighborhoods

Westlake Peninsula Neighborhood Video

The Westlake Peninsula is bordered by Lake Austin. It starts in the vicinity where Westlake Drive intersects with the high road, and continues west along Westlake Drive to Loop 360, which is also known as Capital of Texas Highway. There are a number of great neighborhoods located in the Westlake Peninsula.

Today we’ll start our tour at the eastern end of the Peninsula, at the condominium community of St. Tropez, which features zero lot line homes. If boating is of interest, Lake Austin Marina is located in the Westlake Peninsula.

Continuing west, we pass the neighborhood of West Rim, which was developed in the 1980s. These homes are on larger lots and many are in the process of being renovated. West Room is the only neighborhood that has its own Lake Austin waterfront park.

Next to West Room is the gated neighborhood of West Room Estates, which was developed in the late 1990s. Other neighborhoods along Westlake Drive are River Oaks and Westview, as well as several smaller areas featuring pockets of 10 to 15 homes. Most of the waterfront homes along Westlake Drive are not located in a neighborhood association; however, there are several waterfront homes in the island on Westlake. Though situated in Rolling Hills, these neighborhoods are actually located in a valley, so children can ride bikes without having to climb hills.

Further west is the Green Park neighborhood, which was developed in the mid-1980s. It features very large lots and homes of traditional architectural style. This is another community that is seeing lots of renovation and rebuilding to meet the needs of today’s homeowners.

At the end of Westlake Drive is Davenport Ranch, the largest community in the area. Davenport Ranch features a wide variety of homes in various price ranges. The Davenport Ranch shopping center is home to Maudie’s Tex-Mex Restaurant, Opal Divine’s, and Eleven Plates. Across Loop 360 is Jack Allen’s Kitchen, and traveling 15 minutes north or south one will find many more dining and shopping options.

The Austin Country Club is located here and features swimming, golfing, tennis, dining, and many other activities for its members.

The Westlake Peninsula is located in the highly acclaimed Eanes School District. Students here attend Bridge Point Elementary, Hill Country Middle School, and Westlake High School. All the schools in the Eanes District are rated exemplary and students here excel in both scholastics and extra-curricular activities.

For discriminating buyers, I would urge you to look at the Westlake Peninsula. It offers a wide variety of both homes and neighborhoods, a very unique location, excellent schools, and a really beautiful setting. It truly has something for everyone.
