Pemberton Heights Austin
Pemberton Heights is a storied neighborhood just north of Windsor Road in Travis County’s 78703. Pemberton Heights' homes for sale sit east of Mopac Expressway as Tarrytown sits to the west. It is one of Austin’s more historic neighborhoods with stately homes spanning decades dating back to the early thirties. Developed on what was the Harris farm, the community has always been one of Austin’s most prestigious.
A leisurely drive along Jarrett Avenue or the parallel Harris Boulevard is a journey across architectural styles. Pemberton Heights' homes for sale share one unifying characteristic, and that is elegance. With an average size of 3500 square feet, these homes offer a variety of architectural styles and sizes. Buyers will find 2-bedroom cottages sitting comfortably beside 6-bedroom estates. These houses, with stone and stucco exteriors, are set among well-manicured grounds of ivy and old-growth trees. It is their classic Craftsman and Tudor-inspired lines and beautifully detailed finishes, as well as their envious location, that make them part of this enclave of Central Austin luxury homes.

It roughly sits east of MoPac, west of Lamar Boulevard, and between the 24th and 29th Streets. It would take about a five-minute cab ride to downtown or UT, or a 25-minute drive to the airport.
Pemberton Heights rose to prominence with the first wave of oil money in the '20s. The neighborhood was built in 12 phases between 1927 and the early '40s. One of the best-known structures is the Pemberton Castle on Wooldridge, which was constructed in 1926 as the sales office for Pemberton Heights. The neighborhood encompasses many mansions and manorial styles, but also blocks of more modest homes. There is something for everything, as you will find many different styles, among which Tudor cottages, American Georgian Revival, Spanish Colonial Revival, and the occasional contemporary home. The beautiful streets that these homes sit on are lined with majestic trees.
