Old Enfield Austin

In the early 1900s when Austin was experiencing a lot of residential growth in the downtown area, the Enfield Realty and Home Building Company created some of the first “subdivisions” or “automobile suburbs” in what is now the Old West Austin Historic District. Originally the Pease Plantation, this area boasts some of Austin’s oldest Colonial-style homes. In Travis County’s 78703 zip code, the neighborhood consists of homes north of 13th Street, South of Windsor Road, East of Pease Park and West of what is now TX-1 Loop also known as MoPac Expressway.
