Northeast Austin Real Estate

Northeast Austin is an area that may be defined differently according to who you ask. It is a large area in Travis County’s 78752, 78753, and 78754 zip codes bordered on the west by Interstate 35, on the south by Hwy 290, on the east by TX-130 and on the north by East Howard Lane. Included within Northeast Austin are areas such as Pioneer Hill, Woodcliff, Jourdan Crossing, Lost Plains, Parmer North and Tech Ridge Center. With most neighborhoods only 12 miles from Downtown Austin, buyers of Northeast Austin homes for sale find this is a great location for employment, while allowing residents to be near the city for all of Austin’s many events.

Newcomers moving to the area for jobs in the technology industry want to consider Northeast Austin. Employers like Samsung, Dell, Apple, Cisco Systems, IBM, Unisys, and Oracle as well as numerous other smaller companies are within a short drive. Highways are good, schools are excellent, shopping and dining are prevalent, and real estate is available in a range of price points.

Buyers find communities within the Northeast Austin area date to the 1950s but have both older neighborhoods as well as newer ones. Enclave at Springs, Parkside at Harris Branch, Copperfield, Pioneer Crossing West, Windsor Hills, Fort Dessau, Walnut Creek Enclave and Bellingham Meadows are just a few of the many places buyers want to visit as they search for Northeast Austin homes.

Where is Northeast Austin?

To visit Northeast Austin, take Interstate 35 north from Downtown Austin. Depending upon the area of interest, exit on US-183 East, East Rundberg Lane, East Braker Lane or East Parmer Lane. These roads will take you east to the neighborhood you are interested in viewing. Northeast Austin is between I-35 and TX-130 Toll Road. Many residents of this area take TX-130 Toll Road S to TX-71 W to access Austin-Bergstrom International Airport less than 20 miles from most homes in Northeast Austin.

Things to do in Northeast Austin

Buyers of Northeast Austin homes for sale find excellent health care options and career opportunities within 5 to 8 miles of most homes including Cross Creek Hospital, St. David’s Women’s Center, Seton Northwest Hospital. Shopping and dining are available at Tech Ridge Center off East Parmer Lane at Interstate 35 or, at Shops at Tech Ridge at Interstate 35 and Center Ridge Drive. HEB is the largest grocer in this area and is at Tech Ridge Center as well as other neighborhood convenience centers throughout Northeast Austin.

Northeast Austin is home to Gustavo (Gus) Garcia District Park. The Center, a 20,000 square foot gymnasium, offers programs for all ages and includes basketball courts, a rock wall for climbing, fitness center, children’s room and computer room. Located off Interstate 35 and East Rundberg Lane, the facility also includes summer camps and senior programs.

Northeast Austin Schools

Austin ISD serves students living in Northeast Austin. Be sure to ask your Realty Austin agent for specific school assignments for this area. Most Austin ISD schools group students according to grade. For example, elementary school (K-5), middle school (6-8) and high school (9-12). There are also several charter schools in Northeast Austin as well as private school opportunities for those preferring that option.
