Where is Mueller Austin?

The Mueller neighborhood is just east of Interstate 35, a short distance from the Austin Medical District. The north border is E 51st St; Airport Blvd is to the south. Mueller is less that 9 miles from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, and just 5 miles to Downtown Austin. Some of the major local employers in the area include the Dell Children's Medical Center, and Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas.

Things to do near Mueller

All Mueller homes for sale benefit from being at the hub of a pedestrian community. A weekly farmers market, many brick and mortar eateries, and an outdoor food court are a short walk from most homes. Mueller residents of all ages benefit from the on-site presence of The Thinkery, a children's museum dedicated to making science fun by hosting sleepovers, day camps, and permanent exhibits all year long. Students from Mueller attend schools in Austin ISD. Younger students go to Maplewood Elementary (PK-5), while older students attend Kealing Middle School (6-8), and McCallum High School (9-12). Mueller is located just three miles northeast of downtown Austin. The current boundaries are I-35 to the west, Manor Road to the east, 51st Street to the north, and Airport Boulevard to the South. It’s about a 15 minute drive to the airport. It’s also conveniently located two miles to the University of Texas campus.

There are a variety of styles represented in Mueller, from homes with more craftsman and traditional influences to those with more modern architecture. The first homes were built in 2007, with new homes still available. Prices range from the 170 for homes eligible in the Mueller Affordable Program to estate homes in excess of $1 million. The completion of all phases of Mueller, including commercial, retail, and residential projects is estimated to be the year 2025. When complete, Mueller will be home to 5,700 residences, with 25 percent of those being in the Mueller Affordable Program.

The public schools residents attend are part of Austin Independent School District. Children with either attend Maplewood or Blanton Elementary, Kealing or Pearce Middle School, and Reagan or McCallum High School. Mueller has some fantastic amenities already in place or planned for the future. There will be 140 acres of parks and over 13 miles of hike and bike trails when complete.

Right now, we’re standing in front of Mueller Lake Park, which is a 30-acre park surrounded by a six and a half acre lake for residents to enjoy. Mueller will also be home to the Austin Children’s Museum located near Town Center. Del Children’s Hospital is located within the community, and St. David’s Hospital is located approximately one mile south. Mueller will be home to 650,000 square feet of retail space, much of which is complete or under construction.

The broad spectrum of housing options allows people from different walks of life and budgets to live close to downtown and enjoy wonderful amenities.
