Manor used to be a sleepy agricultural community well outside of Austin, but these days it’s one of the most quickly growing suburbs in Central Texas. Just 12 miles northeast of Austin, this Travis County town is a part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. It’s renowned for being the backdrop of the movie What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, for having the first government agency in the United States to include QR codes in communications with residents and visitors, and for hosting President Barack Obama during a 2013 visit to Manor New Technology High School.

For additional shopping and services, residents flock to Tech Ridge Shopping Center in North Austin, La Frontera Shopping Center and Round Rock Premium Outlets in Round Rock, and all points in between. The North Austin and Round Rock area is a busy hub of retail and entertainment options, making daily conveniences and outings easy and enjoyable.

Manor Park and Ride makes it easy for residents to quickly and conveniently travel to Downtown Austin and the University of Texas at Austin campus for fun, informal classes, dining and cultural events. And with proximity to the TX-130 Toll Road and Manor Expressway, locals can travel with ease to many surrounding areas like Georgetown, Pflugerville, and Round Rock.

Manor Schools

Manor ISD serves this area's students. There are eight elementary schools, Manor Middle (6-8), Decker Middle (6-8), Manor Excel Academy (8-12), Manor New Tech High (9-12) and Manor High School (9-12). The school district enjoys a dynamic relationship and effective mentoring program with both Samsung Austin Semiconductor and Applied Materials Austin.
