La Ventana is in a location that we refer to as the gateway to the hill country, or the little Napa Valley due to the many wineries and winning venues making a home here. We are only five minutes from the famous Salt Lick on 1826, which is our main artery to Austin. We're only 35 minutes to downtown and to the airport. Twelve minutes to Dripping Spring to the north, and twelve minutes to Wimberley to the south.

La Ventana was originally a 650-acre ranch that was developed in the late '90s. We currently have about 250 lots with roughly 150 homes complete. We are an upscale, gated community with custom homes and custom home sites. Most of our homes are on one to five acre tracts, with a few being ten acres or more. Some of these lots are equestrian and homeowners are able to have horses on their properties. We do try to stay within the hill country motif, so you'll not see many brick homes mainly stone and stucco.

Amenities in La Ventana include our front pastures with our famous longhorns. The longhorns are part of our ROA; our fees go to make sure they are well taken care of. We also have a beautiful clubhouse that includes pool and a beautiful waterfall. We have tennis courts, driving range, putting green, and places to grill and barbecue with family and friends. The clubhouse includes a gourmet kitchen, game room with a big screen TV, pool table, workout rooms, and saunas. The clubhouse can be rented out for private parties if you live in the community. We do have social events every month so there's always something to do if you're wanting to be active in the neighborhood and community.

The community has access to three different school districts; Dripping Springs, Hays County, and Wimberley. We also have children that attend private schools and a few homeschoolers as well. For the residents we have plenty of shopping to choose from. Twenty-five minutes to Barton Creek or the Hill Country Galleria and only forty-five minutes to San Marcus Outlet Mall. Grocery stores are not far either; we have HEB 15 minutes away, and Whole Foods that's only 20 minutes away.

This area has much to offer when it comes to dining. My favorites are the famous Salt Lick, Trattoria Lisina, and the Hays County Store. Residents also have a selection of vineyards and breweries within a five-minute drive.

Living here feels like being on vacation with its scenic beauty and outstanding amenities.
