Highland Village, one of Central Austin’s more affordable neighborhoods, is located in Travis County’s 78731 zip code. Situated between Allandale to the north and Rosedale to the south, Highland Village homes for sale are just 5 miles from Downtown Austin and very close to TX-1 Loop, also known as MoPac Expressway. The neighborhood’s location near this major connector road provides easy access to some of Austin’s top employment centers to the north as well as into Downtown Austin to the south.

Some of Central Austin’s original suburban properties, Highland Village homes for sale are an eclectic mix of brick ranchers and more traditional 2-story houses. Built mostly in the 1950s, many homes in Highland Village have been updated with wood or tile floors and more modern appliances. The Huntington-Surrey School (9-12) is another choice and is less than 2 miles from most homes. The Children’s School (2-7 years old), with a Montessori-affiliated program, is adjacent to the neighborhood.
