Giles Place Austin

Giles Place is a subdivision of homes with a rich history near the Cherrywood section of East Austin. Built between 1947 and 1950, the one-story bungalows were marketed to GIs returning home from World War II. Giles Place homes originally ranged in size from 800 to 1,000 square feet and were built with volcanic ash blocks imported from Mexico.

Today, many Giles Place homes for sale have undergone extensive renovations to reflect modern life, including additional square footage, updated kitchens and bathrooms, and premium finishes like granite countertops. However, the vintage charm of the homes remain. Giles Place is affectionately known as ""Stuccoville"" for the homes' stucco exteriors.
