Tucked into the bend of Bull Creek as it flows into the river, this 1970’s era neighborhood features a Lake Austin lifestyle only 9 miles from the city. The Courtyard subdivision pays tribute to what was formerly Tom Wooten Boy Scout Camp with street names like Scout Island and Inter Council. Ranging from hilltop settings to lakefront shorelines, Courtyard homes for sale offer views of the cliffs along the Colorado River as well the rolling hillsides that mark the start of the Texas Hill Country.

The Courtyard was developed by Robbie Mayfield in the early 1980s. I was actually an on-site salesperson selling the homes that were built there in the initial development of the Courtyard. Many of the initial homes have been revitalized, due to its close proximity to downtown and Lake Austin. Some homeowners enjoy waterfront homes via Bull Creek to Lake Austin.
In the Courtyard, there are several outdoor spaces to enjoy. Enjoy the community park with access to Lake Austin and children's playground. The area also includes the Courtyard Tennis and Swim Club. Drop in for a cold beverage at the bar or quick snack.
The Courtyard is in close proximity to shopping, with The Arboretum, Trader Joes, Whole Foods, and Nordstrom Rack. The newly-developed Domain Shopping Center is just a short drive down Loop One, which boasts higher-end shopping and find dining. The area offers a wide selection of restaurants. Enjoy authentic Tuscan food at Siena, Surf and Turf at Eddie V's, new-American cuisine at Z Tejas, and of course the iconic County Line Barbecue on the lake.
The Courtyard is located in the Austin Independent School District. You have Highland Park Elementary, a blue-ribbon school, with Lamar Middle School and McCallum High School, offering studies in fine arts at their Fine Arts Academies.
