Bouldin Creek used to be considered the most southern tip of Austin in the 1920s. Now it’s just minutes from town and considered right in the heart of Austin. The name Bouldin Creek comes from the Bouldin family, who came to Austin in the 1850s and purchased a large tract of land. It wasn’t until the 1920s and ‘30s where most of the growth really began. Bouldin Creek’s boundaries are between South Congress to the east, Lamar to the West, Barton Springs Boulevard to the north, and Oltorf to the south, approximately 5 minutes from downtown and 15, 20 minutes to the airport.

Bouldin Creek offers an eclectic mix of different types of housing, from craftsman bungalows to modern, contemporary-designed homes. Houses in the area range from 700 square feet to over 4,000. There’s lots of new construction and houses that date back to the 1920s and ‘30s. There’s approximately 2,700 homes. The average days on market is very minimum.

The schools in the Bouldin Creek area include Becker Elementary, Fulmore Middle School, and high schools are split between Travis High and Austin High School. Residents choose to live in Bouldin Creek because of its close proximity to shops, restaurants, and parks and recreation.
