October in Austin wouldn't be the same without music and film (don't miss this year's Austin City Limits Music Festival and Austin Film Festival), but combine that with goblins, ghouls and ghosts and you've got one heck of a fun month! In October, Austin homes become graveyard sites perfect for ghosts to haunt and Austin homeowners open their doors to trick-or-treaters of every walking creature in sight! Batmans, zombies, and Lady Gaga's flood neighborhood streets in search for treats. And it wouldn't be complete without pumpkin lanterns to flicker setting the mood for the witching hours of the night. So in lieu of the Halloween spirit, we've put together a list of our favorite pumpkin patches in Central and Northwest Austin to get your little monsters ready for Halloween!

Don't forget to check out our post on 2011 Best Pumpkin Patches in Austin.

Pumpkin Patch at Tarrytown United Methodist Church Youth

So excited to get pumpkins! Have you ever been to Sweetberry Farm up in Marble Falls? I've heard good things about them, as well, but it might be easier to stay in town and just go to one of the spots you included.

Thank you, Realty Austin! We Googled Austin pumpkin patches and yours was the best list by far. Got some great kid pics and pumpkins at Tarrytown United Methodist!

Sweetberry Farms is a wondeful place. Not just for pumpkins, in March they have strawberry picking also!

Hi Realty Austin!
I'm the Youth Director at Saint John's UMC and just wanted to give y'all some more info on our Patch this year. This will be the 20th Anniversary of the Saint John's Patch! We open our 2012 pumpkin season on October 9th.
Our proceeds go to Youth Missions (this past year we focused on hunger and education - harvesting produce for food banks in Virginia and tutoring/reading with underserved children in Dallas). All our pumpkins are from a Navajo reservation in New Mexico who we've had a great partnership with for these 20 years.
Our Patch is a fun place to bring children - with a playground and storytime every Saturday at 10:30am.

Our Patch is open:
Sunday - 12noon - 7pm
Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday - 10am - 7pm
Tuesday and Thursday - 2:30pm - 7pm

Hope to see y'all at the Patch!
