There is a good reason the U.S. Census Bureau named Cedar Park the fourth-fastest-growing city in the United States. After all, everything is bigger in Texas, and Cedar Park is certainly scratching for its place on the long list of attractions in the state.

Prior to being settled by pioneer Thomas Anderson, believed to be one of the first settlers of the area back in the 1850s, the Cedar Park area was home to Native American tribes including the Tonkawa, Lipan-Apache, and the Comanche, but evidence shows this area had been inhabited since around 5000 B.C. In 1978 the city became incorporated. Since then, it has only grown in size and popularity.

Anderson Mill West began development in the late 1990s and early 2000s, with home sizes ranging from 1,000 to over 4,000 square feet. Located in the northwest region of Austin, Anderson Mill West is a fast-growing community coveted by many middle class and young families for the convenient location to Downtown Austin. Anderson Mill West borders Travis and Williamson counties and can be found situated in the growing city of Cedar Park. Located just off Anderson Mill Rd, near Highways 620 and 183, Anderson Mill West is a mere 25 minutes from Downtown Austin, a short 14 minutes to Round Rock, and 30 minutes from the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

Though most of Cedar Park is served by Round Rock ISD, students of Anderson Mill West will attend schools in Leander Independent School District. One of the fastest-growing districts in the area with over 35,000 students, Leander ISD has its own nonprofit organization, the Leander ISD Educational Excellence Foundation (LEEF), dedicated to enhancing innovation, enrichment, and equity. In addition, 2006 saw the implementation of the Student Learning Model, a teaching system based on three years of research on how best to enhance student achievement.
