Gigi Jacks McClaskey

Gigi has recently been adopted into my greater family. My son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter and I first met her at an open house she was hosting about 18 months ago. Within moments of meeting her I knew that she was going to be my agent when I would be able to ‘escape’ California. Prior to that my son and his family had their real estate needs met with Gigi’s guidance and support. She did a superior job for them. They adore her. When it came my time to come to Free America, Gigi had well prepared me for the move and for months kept me apprised of market conditions along with homes meeting my parameters. Gigi found the perfect home for my specific needs and desires; something for which I will be forever grateful. I am now blessed with incredible neighbors and a wonderful community. While I believe she found me my forever home and I have no plans to move, I would use her again and again, and would refer her solely to those I am closest to and care most about. Gigi did a very good job for us. The lady she used to stage was extremely helpful, although we didn’t take all her suggestions. Having two offers the first day of listing certainly didn’t hurt either. We never saw a brochure on our home, but that was probably due to the house selling before they were printed? If Gigi does have one, we’d like to see it as we’ve bought and sold 12 homes in our 55 years of marriage, and my wife is still with me! We have brochures on most of our other homes.

I cannot say enough great things about Gigi Jacks McClaskey. She has been my Realtor for the past few years and has helped me both buy and sell. Not only does she have incredible knowledge and experience in real estate, but she is such a wonderful person in general! She definitely looks out for her clients' best interests and is skilled at negotiating. As a single mother buying a house on my own for the first time, she was such a valuable resource for me and was so helpful in talking through the pros and cons of different properties, and how they would work for my family. I seriously don't think I could have gone through the house-finding process without her! There really is no substitute for an experienced, trusted Realtor, and Gigi is that and so much more!

We have used Gigi for two purchases. Let me first say that she is persistent (and patient!). She stays in touch but does so in a way sufficiently charming that you don't much mind. In working the contracts, she was alert and attentive to detail, which I appreciated. Beyond these things, which I might expect from any good Realtor, there was something more: I trusted her. I'm 68, have bought and sold my share of real estate, and it has always been my cynical but pretty accurate observation that lots of real estate agents do not represent their clients, they represent their commissions. Gigi is an exception to this rule. Of course, she wants the transaction to happen. But I was sure she would never disassemble or deceive, and I always felt like she genuinely put our interests first. This I took as an expression of confidence in herself, and in us, that meant a lot.

Our experience was very good, had no problems just a lot of wishful buyers who changed their minds, but Gigi kept us informed and helped us get to the real deal.

I am so thankful I called Gigi Jacks McClaskey to assist us with locating and purchasing our home. I met Gigi at a bible study I attended some years back. Even then, I felt her warmth which is exactly how she was with us in finding a home. Gigi was so patient with us as we requested to view homes in areas where the roads had not yet been turned into actual streets. Gigi never hesitated in responding to emails, text or phone calls. Gigi was always honest, and upfront about properties and we knew we could count her to guide us to properties that would fit our timeline in life and our budget. Gigi did an excellent job. My wife and I were first-time home buyers, and we decided to reach out to Gigi based on our friends' experience working with her earlier in 2018 to buy their home. Gigi went above and beyond. I'm already recommending her to friends who're moving to Austin and who aim to buy houses eventually. Not only was Gigi great on helping us feel out places, but she provided us input that was clearly in our best interest (even more so than her interest in making a deal). She saved us a ton (and would have saved even more), gave great input on inspectors, and she even helped us avoid tremendous issues with the first house we almost purchased. Gigi recommended we have a good, reputable septic inspector come out to an otherwise good-looking house, and that saved us from buying a place that needed tens of thousands of dollars in repairs (which, incidentally, still isn't back on the market/is being repaired). Gigi did all that even though she would have gotten a quicker commission had that deal moved ahead. As an attorney, I find it sadly less common to see those type of ethics in sales-oriented professions, and real estate here especially, but it makes me especially comfortable working with Gigi again and recommending Gigi to our extensive network of friends around the Capitol. I am sure we will be sending business Gigi's way very soon. I look forward to working with her again someday (though I'm sure it will come as no surprise that we don't hope to be in the market for houses again soon) and of sending our friends her way.
