Wayne was born in England when his father was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Wayne grew up in Houston and Bellville, Texas and moved to Austin in 1983, after graduating from high school.  Wayne moved back to Houston in 1991 and founded The DR R Lee Clark Foundation named for his grandfather, the founding president of MD Anderson Hospital.

In 1995 Wayne moved to Brenham Texas where he co-founded and served as president of Shady Grove Farms, a food production company. Shortly after SGF formed a trucking company to transport its goods and hired loads.

After SGF sold, Wayne moved back to Austin and earned his real estate license in 2006.  Wayne prides his business on customer service.  Through his commitment to excellence and personal service Wayne has represented residential real estate buyers and has become expertly familiar with both the new home construction and the residential resale markets. He has the knowledge, resources, and expertise to market your home effectively, and to help you choose the right neighborhood, the right schools and the right builder for you and your family.   

Wayne believes that real estate is much more than simply buying or selling a home. To him, a key element ofreal estate is developing relationships and building trust with his clients. When you meet Wayne you will quickly realize you have gained a true friend! He knows how to listen and always puts the needs and wants of his clients’ forefront. Wayne truly enjoys working with his clients and helping them through the process of buying or selling a home.

Wayne attended the University of Texas, received his real estate education from Texas Tech University is a Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE).  Wayne is continuing his education as he studies for his broker’s license.

Wayne is passionate about the arts and philanthropy.  He enjoys employing his expertise in charitable giving and fundraising to support local nonprofit organizations’ such as the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Seton Brain and Spine Institute and Project Transitions.  His involvement in the arts includes his position as a Board Trustee of Zachary Scott Theatre where he also serves as a member of the Development Committee and ZACH’s Corporate Council.

It was great working with Wayne to sell our home. He looked at comparables and found an asking price we were happy with. Wayne scheduled a stager and photographer to make our condo look its best. He kept us up to date whenever we had a showing. I highly recommended Wayne Clark with Realty Austin for buying your house and selling your house. We used him on both sides. For buying our house, he was fantastic in using his negotiation skills and logic in order to come to a fair compromise when the seller wanted to live in our house on a lease for free for an extra month before she was going to move, instead of paying rent or mortgage that she would have to pay if she had quickly move to someplace else. He was able to convince her that she would have to pay rent wherever she lived so it was fair for her to pay it in this case. After speaking to Wayne, she agreed to pay the rent.

For selling our house, we interviewed 4 different realtor agents. Wayne's comparable made the most sense. He had accurate comparable of the neighborhood and surrounding areas. Two of the other agent's prices the house to sell were both $17,000 less than Wayne's recommendation. The third one was ridiculously too high, making it higher than the biggest house in the neighborhood. Wayne's recommendation was in the middle. He was able to sell our house for full listing amount in 48 hours with a cash offer, with not needing to rent furniture to show off the home. He really new the market in this area well.

Wayne is an easy person to get along with. He goes out of his way to help you. After we vacated our house and moved away, and before the house closed, Wayne came over several times to check up on our house and take the trash can out to the curb for pick up. After we moved and we sold the refrig, washer and dryer, Wayne came over to the house and mopped where the appliances had been so the new owner would have a clean area to move in her appliances. Again, I highly recommend Wayne Clark for both buying and selling your home!

I was pleased beyond words with the experience of selling our home through Wayne Clark and Realty Austin. The service was exemplary, but more importantly, the timing, market analysis and explanation of the Austin Real Estate Market was in line with our, my wife and my, thoughts on what we should list the home at given the market conditions. It appears that we had little competition and the market just happened to jump up 28% over the past few months.

More importantly, Wayne is a very personable and pleasant person to work with and our experience was excellent. He is knowledgable and answered all our questions and when I got a little irritated with buyer demands he calmed me down and we resolved all issues with the buyer.
