Tommy Hazleton

Broker Associate

“Potential. That’s at the heart of every real estate transaction I handle.”

So says Tommy Hazleton, Broker Associate with Realty Austin. “My job is to find out what that truest potential is for each client. Then I have to work towards seeing it best realized. When that’s all said and done, my clients are always through the moon - as am I. Helping my clients reach or exceed that potential is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job.”

Tommy earned his salesperson license in 2005 and became a Texas Real Estate Broker in 2010. Becoming a broker required several years of previous experience, 900 classroom hours, and the expertise and ability to navigate the real estate recession of 2008 while still being relatively new to the profession.

In spite of the latter, Tommy lit the fire of entrepreneurial spirit by opening his own brokerage in 2010. Running a company while overseeing other agents proved to be the ultimate fast track for gaining real world experience as Tommy helped his sponsored agents through their transactions while carrying a full workload of his own. “Owning my own brokerage gave me such a wealth of experience and understanding of this business. As our industry continuously evolved I was spending more and more time keeping the company relevant while my heart was tugging at me to focus on doing that which I loved most - helping people reach their real estate goals and dreams. When I decided to ‘make the move,’ I knew right away my next chapter would begin at Realty Austin.”

True to form Realty Austin would prove to be the perfect platform for allowing Tommy to shift his focus back to sales while offering a fresh edge of best in the business tech and tools to enhance his already experienced skill set. Altogether, the future looks Bright.

A Cajun native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Tommy carries an RTF degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and has worked on numerous Austin area past Projects.

Tommy once spent a year as a barista at the 503 Coffee Bar (RIP) in south Austin. There he met the girl of his dreams and future wife, Roxanne. Today they own a home on 5 acres in nearby Cedar Creek with their two sons who are growing up too fast.

Nearly every year since 2003 Tommy has volunteered as a cabin counselor at Camp Oasis, a summer camp for children suffering from IBD (ulcerative colitis & Chrons disease). Having been diagnosed with UC in 1996, Tommy hopes his story of success in the face of having such a tough disease can be an inspiration to the campers.

Tommy is an avid musician, loves fishing and the outdoors, and is currently writing his first novel.

Tommy Hazleton took great care of us. He made the process of selling our house a breeze. We put our trust in Tommy, and he delivered. Without a doubt, he had our best interests in mind the entire way. Thank you for everything, Tommy!

Tommy was the consummate professional. About five years back he sold our house in Falcon Pointe when we were prepping to move out of town. Upon our return, we wanted to see if he was still in the area and lucky for us he was. He made time for off-hour showings, last-minute requests and always had the house's story with him every time we met him. He worked hard on getting the seller to meet our demands upon the house we ended up purchasing and worked late into the nights. I know this as I work late hours sometimes for my customers and he would send me emails during the night. I would not hesitate to suggest him to others, friends, or relatives to use, as Austin is home to him and his knowledge of the market, areas, and schools really helped out.

We used Tommy Hazleton as our Realtor for the purchase of our first home. Being first-time homebuyers, I was apprehensive about some things. Here's how it went:

  1. Worried about not understanding the terminology. At our first meeting, Tommy gave us a booklet he'd written himself of terminology and the written out process of home buying, as well as useful tips and advice.
  2. Worried about Realtor taking us to homes out of our price range. I feel like I hear this happens to everyone. We told him our number, price and he never took us to a home over it. In fact, many of the homes were in the lower range we had told him we'd ideally like to buy-in.
  3. Worried about the responsiveness of Realtor. Tommy was very proactive in putting together an expansive search of homes for us. He set up our own web page with listings which we could then "like," "hate" or "maybe." He read the comments we wrote & tailored the search from there. He was also amazing about getting us into the homes we wanted to see, usually on the day of or within 24 hours.

By the way, it took us one week to find our dream house. When we saw it, Tommy knew how quickly it would go and made sure we were the ones to get it. He was great about getting us into properties that had JUST come on the market.

At the time, we also had some good friends buying a home. Talking to them about their experience vs. ours made us appreciate Tommy all the more. They spent months looking for their home and had deals fall through because the Realtor didn't respond as quickly as they needed.

I'd definitely recommend Tommy, and as long as he's in business when we move again someday, I'm sure we'll use him again. Thanks, Tommy!

Tommy sold my home very fast and I felt very comfortable with him from the moment we first met. He was honest and straight-forward and didn’t beat around the bush. When it came time to negotiate I appreciated his approach. Would definitely recommend.

We’ve worked with Tommy 4 times now and he has done well for us every time. Other members of our family have also used Tommy as their agent with good results. Tommy does an excellent job of breaking down the situation in laymen’s terms and provides practical answers and solutions. His intuitions have proven founded time and again and we have learned to trust his reading of the market.

When we relocated to Texas Tommy was there for us every step of the way. We weren't sure of which city we would call home so Tommy found us a short-term rental in central Austin as he helped us begin our search for a home. Tommy is very knowledgeable of Austin and the surrounding areas. As we searched near and far he was always willing and ready to show us properties. He made the whole experience easy and kept our best interests in mind. If you’re looking for a Realtor that is reliable, friendly and is always there for you, call Tommy Hazleton!

Tommy helped us buy and sell our first house. He worked hard on our behalf. He’s very personable and a straight shooter. The house he helped us find ended up being the perfect first home and a great investment that proved very beneficial when we moved to Colorado.

I have known Tommy from another time, in another Industry. When he told me he was getting into Real Estate years back, I knew he would be good at it, as what you can't teach, he has innately, and that is respect for his clients, and people in general. We put our home on the market right before going to Disney World. Tommy handled all the headaches and stresses alone and in silence, affording us an enjoyable vacation while getting things done on our behalf. He had made some suggestions on what needed to be done for the house to sell, and when we listened, it did just that: SOLD!

We moved to a different city where he does not work, but the best compliment I could give him would be if he were here, he would be our agent to help us this time in buying our next home. Give him a try, he won't let you down!

Tommy Hazleton made one of the "supposedly" most stressful times in my life a breeze! He listened to my needs, concerns and prioritized them before showing me any homes. I was pleased with everything I saw until I found the perfect home.

When the banks were engaging me too much during my work hours Tommy called them to filter the fluff before it needed to reach me. Customer service is very important to me and he has it in spades!

Tommy even wrote a letter to the previous owners to help seal the deal as to why they should pick me as their new buyer even if there are other bids higher than mine.

If you want an easy home buying experience, Tommy Hazleton is very reliable and trustworthy!!

Tommy listened to what we wanted and then found the perfect house to match our needs. I strongly recommend him. I would use him again myself, except I'm so happy with my house that I never want to move!!
