Wood, sawdust, blueprints, and construction sites. Scott has been immersed in these basic elements of real estate since he was a kid. Growing up in his family’s millwork manufacturing business on the east coast, Scott developed a unique perspective of home design and quality from the inside-out. After moving to Austin/Westlake in 2005, he decided to use his in-depth knowledge of construction, love of design and a desire to work with great people to launch his real estate career.

Whether buying or selling, building or remodeling, Scott’s goal is to help his clients get to the next chapter in their life as smoothly and efficiently as possible. He listens intently to his clients to understand their personal situation, their motivations for buying/selling and anything that will be important to them during and after the transaction. While keeping their priorities front and center, Scott successfully navigates through any obstacles or challenges that arise. He is also a creative problem solver who thinks outside the box, offering solutions that clients (or other agents) may not have considered.

Scott values the relationships he forms with his clients as well as industry professionals. His rapport with other agents creates more opportunities for his clients. This may come in the form of a pocket listing that is the perfect match for a buyer, or winning a multiple offer situation because the other agent knows that Scott is a professional who can be relied on for a smooth and successful transaction. Scott intentionally communicates with the other agent to understand the other party’s motivating factors. This allows him to more skillfully negotiate on behalf of his clients and achieve their desired outcome.

Outside of work, Scott can be found spending quality time with his family and friends. The Joffes enjoying traveling to California to see their adult children as well as exploring and experiencing Austin with their daughter Susannah, a student at St. Stephens Episcopal School. Scott is a songwriter at heart and writes songs alongside his daughter. You might even catch the two of them performing around Austin from time to time!

Scott graduated from Emory University with a BBA and has been with Realty Austin since 2007.

Milestones

March 2017

Scott Joffe was my real estate agent for the sale of my home. My wife and I had built a custom Drees Home in 2008, and Scott was instrumental in assisting us with this endeavor as we lived in Georgia at the time. My reason for selling was the death of my wife. My instructions to Scott were simple; I had to sell the house and move, and I was going to rely heavily on him to keep things moving so the sale would happen.

There were a multitude of problems, the most obvious being my travels outside of the state of Texas. In order to list my home, I had to clear up the title to the property. Scott introduced me to an attorney who completed this process.

Scott spent time with me discussing what needed to be done to properly stage the home. This included minor repairs, specific upgrades and paying attention to the many details. The listing price was rather aggressive, but the first showing was the only showing necessary. Our first visitor made an acceptable offer and the house was under contract quickly and closed soon after.

There were times during the negotiating that I was ready to walk away. The broker representing the buyer was difficult and at times, unreasonable. Scott handled many difficult situations with calm and professionalism and took control during those times when I wanted nothing to do with the selling process. It was because of Scott's persistence and patience that the house sold. I could not have asked for a better person to represent me in selling my home.

I now live in California; should I ever return to Texas and purchase a home, Scott Joffe would be the only agent I would consider to represent me.

We live out of state and were limited in how often we could come to Austin to view homes. We directed Scott to begin our home search in Lakeway. However, it was difficult to find a home that met our individual priorities (which conflicted at times - price, size, finish, privacy, proximity to family and airport). After discovering what was truly important to each of us, Scott suggested we consider a different area of Central Texas. Now, we are building a beautiful home in Georgetown and believe that the new location was the right choice for us. We appreciate the time Scott spent with us and his expertise -- suggesting an area we had not even considered. We also appreciate his ability to attune to our rhythm in the process of viewing and considering homes throughout the process.

Scott Joffe was my realtor and he did a fantastic job helping me find the home I wanted. I was traveling back and forth from out of town and he graciously made himself available around my crazy schedule. He listened to my needs and was exceptionally professional and diligent throughout the whole process of looking at NUMEROUS homes, purchasing the home and even after the closing by answering and/or helping me find the answers to everything that came up. I would highly recommend Scott to anyone that is looking to sell or purchase a home.

Scott was by far the best and most professional agent we have ever worked with! I just wish he didn't have to split the commission!! He earned all of it!! We will surely recommend him for years to come.

Scott Joffe is a gem! We have known him now for almost ten years and he has been instrumental in helping us find our last two homes and our son's family home. He is genuine, caring and extremely resourceful. We listened to everything he said, followed his proven course of action and got great results.

Scott was wonderful to work with. Professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and so helpful in dealing with a somewhat adversarial seller. My wife and I will recommend him highly to any of our friends looking for a realtor in the future!

Neither of us had lived in a house since childhood or ever lived in Austin, but we decided we wanted to spend our years of retirement in the Texas hill country. Being stuck in New York City until we had a place to move was a huge challenge, but we were fortunate to have a real estate agent who solved every difficulty of the process as smootly as a knife cutting through soft butter. Scott Joffe lined up a series of houses to visit after we selected from pictures. (This all had to be done during a three day visit.) After we made our choice he helped us through the negotiation process until we got agreement on a price within our budget. Then he directed us to a mortgage agency and arranged for inspections and appraisals to be completed when we were in New York. There were repairs that we wanted done and he got very good contractors to complete the jobs at very reasonable cost. We were unable to move for months after settlement but Scott was right on the job helping us hire contractors to care for the sprinkler system, the septic tank, the air conditioning and even the swimming pool maintenance. (A complete list of all he did would make this review way too long.) He was truly like that Swiss Army Knife with every attachment you could imagine. You can't imagine how personable he remained through the entire process. I'm 75 years old and friends are saying that moving into a house now is crazy because I'd never know what to do or how to get it done. They were wrong because they didn't know that we had a Swiss Army Knife of a real estate agent named Scott!

Scott definitely exceeded our expectations. He gave us valuable insight and honest opinions and guided us towards a perfect fit. He is also very sincere and hard working and gave us whatever information we asked for. He was very proactive and accommodating to our often changing requirements. Irrespective of weekday or weekend or whatever the hour may be, he always responded promptly to our needs. Once he even took the time to call and advise us in the midst of a power outage in his house!

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Scott. We were initially hesitant to work with someone who we essentially "met online" without first having a referral, but we liked Scott from the moment we met him. His style is casual yet professional, and he helped us learn a lot about downtown and its various residential options. He's just nice to be with, too. That made the whole experience that much better.

Scott as exceeded our expectations with the service he provided during the listing, showings and sale of our home. We are continuing to work with him as we look for our next home. His knowledge, honesty and sales approach was the perfect fit for our family.

I needed to market and sell my second home located in Austin (Barton Creek) while living out of state. Scott was highly recommended to me by a long time Austin luxury home builder as someone who could efficiently and effectively handle all aspects of selling this property. I needed someone I could trust to independently deal with all facets of the transaction, as I had limited time to devote to this important but time consuming process. Going above and beyond to accomplish the sale, Scott handled everything necessary to sell my house, including but not limited to: 1. Readying the property with thorough preparation and detailed execution, including working with a design team and landscape contractor to stage and prepare the house for sale. 2. Holding multiple open houses to increase exposure to buyers who were not working with agents. 3. Providing me with regular market updates and accurate, timely showing feedback, so when we got an offer we could work with, I had a great feel for the market and could make quality informed decisions. 4. Overseeing most of the post-contract repairs, and working with contractors to schedule work and arrange for payment. Overall, I trusted Scott completely to manage the process from afar, as I was living out of the state for the entire process. Scott is a consummate professional and a great communicator, which makes him a cut above in the luxury Realtor profession – in Austin or any market.

We turn to Scott and his expertise again and again... As an active but private family, we wanted to sell our West Lake Hills house but not be bothered with unnecessary interruptions in our lives and the hassle of numerous and ineffective showings. Scott had already helped us sell a different and complicated property in West Lake Hills. I asked Scott to put the word out that the house was available, and to only show it to qualified buyers specifically interested in our exact type of house/setting. In turn, Scott brought us one buyer – creating a perfect match by connecting our property with a couple who were looking for the perfect lot with the perfect setting/view on which to build their dream home. We ultimately agreed to terms and consummated the deal. Scott's relationships with other luxury agents really made a difference, as he knew who to contact and was able to work through the negotiations to make the deal work. Understanding our need for limited complications, Scott made the process of selling our home smooth and easy, just as we had outlined. Scott’s understanding of the seller’s interests and desires, and his ability to follow through makes him a stellar choice among Austin luxury Realtors.

We're proof that Scott really cares about his clients - not just his commission. In addition to our sale, Scott helped us with our new home search. As part of that process, we found a home that seemed to meet all our needs, and put the house under contract. Scott stayed by our side as we continued to asses the house and, through hours of discussion and deliberation, ultimately helped us realize that the house, although well-suited for us, was not EXACTLY what we wanted and that we would likely regret purchasing the house. So, we moved on and finally found a house that worked much better for our family and current situation. We know lots of other agents and are certain that many/most would have encouraged us to move forward with house #1, happy to make their commission and move on. Thanks, Scott, for truly caring about our family and our home selection process.

Scott did a great job from our first contact with him as he helped us secure a temporary residence for our relocation from out of state. As we searched for our permanent residence, Scott took the time and made the effort to ensure that we would be happy with our choice once we decided on a property. He was very helpful in pointing out things we should think about as we narrowed our focus. When it came time to submit a bid, Scott provided guidance on what was industry standard and what would make our bid strong or weak. In our many dealings with real estate agents (this is our 5th purchase), Scott stands out in the areas of responsiveness, advice and guidance. We would recommend him unreservedly.

This is the 3rd house we have bought; so we have had experience with the "world of real estate" ... in our situation, we had very specific needs, like everyone, but with more complications than are typical; since we work overseas in Japan. Scott was always quick to respond, even when we had no power due to Japan's major Earthquake / ...Tsunami. After several months of very involved negotiations with the sellers, plus extensive mortgage loan processes, the home is now ours. We appreciate Scott's professionalism, accessibility, and thoroughness throughout this process. In addition the Realty Austin website was very useful as we searched online for over a year, looking at the housing market, considering our options.

Scott became a personal friend. I am almost 69 years old and I have NEVER had a real estate agent provide my wife and I such personalized and outstanding service.

Only complaint: did not provide a winning Texas Lottery ticket.

I have worked with many real-estate agents in Austin and Scott was, by far, the best. He was patient, persistent, always optimistic, honest, attentive to detail, and protective during our long journey to the perfect residence. He was always on time to appointments and prompt in returning phone calls and e-mails. He consistently went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I was well taken care of from the first moment we met to closing. I would not hesitate to recomend him to family, friends, and customers or anyone else buying or selling a home. His blend of intelligence, humor, and sens of responsibility makes him uniquely suited for the Austin real-estate market and I look forward to working with him in the future. We recently purchased a vacant lot in Westlake Hills with the help of Scott Joffe. We feel that without Scott´s help the sale likely would not have closed. The transaction offered several challenges, not least of which is the fact that we reside in Singapore, making reliance on our agent critical. Further complicating matters was the intricate nature of construction on the land; which necessitated topographical surveys and ground testing; along with engineering, architectural and contractor consultations to ascertain the feasibility of building our home; all of which was meticulously coordinated directly by Scott and then conveyed to us abroad. As a realtor, we feel he is extremely knowledgeable, methodical and professional. Without his constant support our property purchase would not have been possible. Scott helped make a seemingly complex purchase pleasant and stress free. It is with pleasure that we highly recommend him.

Due to a job transfer to another state, my husband and I needed to find a realtor who could get our home sold very quickly. After meeting with a few realtors who didn't seem hopeful that we could get it done, we met with Scott Joffe. Almost immediately we knew he would be exactly what we were looking for - enthusiastic and optimistic that with the proper staging, we could get our house on the market and sold in the very short amount of time allotted. With help from his wife, Kimberli, within days we had our home beautifully staged to compete with the model homes in our neighborhood. With their guidance and aggressive marketing campaign, we accepted an offer on our home the first week it was on the market. Because of Scott and Kimberli, the process of selling our home was easy and virtually stress-free. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for realtors who not only get the job done but are incredibly friendly and a pleasure to work with.

Living south of "South Austin", we had an idea of what we wanted but we just didn't know the descriptive. We had no idea how much it would cost us, but we could definitely describe it. We filled out an online inquiry and within 30 minutes, Scott Joffe called us. He met us at 7:00 am the next day on a Saturday morning. Scott has a brilliant technique in his approach to find what the client is looking for, he listens. He let my better half describe what she was looking for and she provided sample pictures. He simply said, "These are called modern houses." He then asked what area we are willing to look at and our price range. We looked at four houses that day and within a week, he had more leads. All of which were not in a real estate database.

Scott has a mental library that goes beyond your online search, believe me, we know. He found us two houses/condos in the 78704 that were just built and hadn't been put on the market yet. By this time, he had helped us stage our house to sell, which basically means "clean and de-clutter." Within 6 days, we had an offer. Scott will never make a suggestion or tell you what he likes. He lets you make the decision when it comes to buying a house. For example, "Scott, this is a pretty color, do you agree?" His reply is normally, "It doesn't matter what I think. Do you like the color?" He encourages you to dig deep and actually decide, "Do I want this house?"

We all put up our warning blinders when we find something that we really want. Scott was there to help us identify those warnings and bring us back down to earth. Similar to an angel on one side of your head and a devil character on the other, scott was our "angel". He helped protect us from making a potentially bad buy. All the signs were saying, "Walk Away", but we really were making an effort to put our faith in humanity.

The original house we were interested in is still on the market and has since dropped $30,000 in price. Scott found us a house that was initially out of our range, but he made a phone call. The same day we walked from the other property, we began negotiations on the house of our dreams. Scott Joffe doesn't pretend to have these supernatural real estate powers. He keeps his ear to the ground, pounds the pavement and does everything he can in the best interest of his clients. Scott Joffe's performance for us as a real estate agent was top-notch and now I am proud to say he is a friend.

Thank you Scott Joffe, we love our house.

Terrell Abbott, 78704

I found Scott when looking for an agent to find a house in the Austin area before we settled on building. I had contacted several agencies, and except for Scott, they just didn't get it. I told them what I was looking for and they proceeded to send something completely different. We found Drees Home on-line but had trouble contacting them. Scott assisted us with this, and has been helpful all along the way as we live in Georgia and built in Round Rock. He was there for all of our walk-throughs as well as was present at the closing to look over the numbers. I didn't go, but gave my wife POA to sign on my behalf. I was comfortable with Scott there to make sure everything was correct.
