Real Estate is a highly sensitive and potentially emotional subject for many and John understands the need to work diligently and delicately for his clients. He holds their hands through the entire process giving them the confidence to make sound decisions. Although many will feel pressure when purchasing a home, it will not be from John. He has a zero-pressure approach to selling Real Estate - he believes the key to making the right decision is to not make that decision under duress. He empowers his client's with information and together they work to create a path forward that is in his client's best interest.

John has lived in Austin for over 25 years and has a deep knowledge of what makes Austin special and "weird." He can tell you which swimming hole has the best water for splashing down, he can tell you which cliffs at Lake Travis are family friendly for jumping, he knows where to get the best Cuban sandwich, and he can tell you about every neighborhood and why people choose to live there. Austin is a unique city and it takes a unique person to truly understand everything it has to offer.

John left the corporate world in 2012. He was a sales director responsible for selling Ad Tech Platforms to Fortune 500 publishing companies. He was very successful in negotiating multi-million dollar ad-serving/master service agreements. His experience with negotiating highly sensitive contracts has put him in a position to successfully create leverage that benefits his clients. He has successfully transferred his experience to relate well in the Real Estate industry.

If you are in the market for buying or selling a home, do yourself a favor and call John Richardson with Realty Austin. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him while searching for our home. We had been contemplating buying a house for some time before starting our search. We knew a few Realtors, but we didn't feel comfortable with anyone until we met John. We liked his personality and had confidence in his expertise, but most of all we trusted John had our best interest as his primary concern.

As first-time home buyers, there was a steep learning curve, and the task seemed daunting. However, John walked us through each step, and the process flowed seamlessly. He allowed us to set our own pace. Whether we needed more time to contemplate a home or whether we wanted to see a house on short notice, John always met us with a smile. He introduced us to different parts of Austin that we had never explored, and he instilled in us a sense of ease that our home was out there. Together we found the house that was a perfect fit for us!

Being first-time home buyers, we were not prepared and didn’t know what to expect from the home-buying process. John broke everything down for us step by step explaining in detail what we needed to know and how to prepare ourselves during the home buying process. John also suggested alternative financing options and explained all the fees we should expect to find when we made our way through the approval process.

Thanks to John, we were able to narrow down our options and focus on more important issues we didn’t realize when selecting the right house. John’s communication was constant and helped us utilize additional negotiation points to bring our purchasing price down to a comfortable price. John made a long, convoluted process less stressful, so we could enjoy our first house purchase. He immediately added value by negotiating a lot credit for our new build...because of this we were able to secure a much more desirable lot in the neighborhood. I have now done three transactions with John! I worked with him years ago when he helped me buy a condo, and then again to sell that condo years later. I was fortunate to get to work with him! Not only is he a really nice guy, he is also a thoughtful and savvy agent.

As a disabled woman working downtown, I needed a special home, in a special part of town. I also needed to find a place quickly. John made it easy for me. He previewed countless homes without me, to confirm there were no mobility obstacles such as stairs, uneven walkways or distant parking. When we found the right condo, in a competitive buyer’s market, he worked with me, to make sure mine was the selected offer.

When I was ready to move again, of course, I called John to list and sell my condo. He facilitated everything I needed for the sale, and helped me with the closing, even though I was out of town.
