He uses this to great effect in negotiating a deal. Also, his knowledge of home building is very useful when buying an older home in an established neighborhood. Jeffrey Schnabel is phenomenal! He was referred through a few coworkers who have used him in the past, and he did not disappoint. My favorite part about working with Jeffrey was his complete transparency throughout the process. He would never tell you if you should or should not purchase a home, but he would make sure you had all the facts about the home before you made a decision. For example, early on in the house hunting process, I fell in love with a house that had everything I wanted and was within my budget. I contacted Jeffrey asking if we should put an offer in on the home and if it was a good buy. After researching, he quickly got back to me to explain that home was in a floodplain and would require flood insurance (as well as living with the possibility of the house flooding). Jeffrey said he could do further research if I was still interested, but after learning how much more costly it would be to have the insurance, I decided to pass on the house. This showed he had no interest in making an easy sell but had every interest in ensuring I would buy a home in which I could happily reside knowing I had all the knowledge before putting an offer in. He's crucial to have when you view a home because he's able to quickly spot any repairs or damage to the home that an inexperienced buyer may not notice. As a first time homebuyer, I had no idea what was considered up to code and if the house was even technically in good condition. Jeffrey has such attention to detail that he's able to pinpoint these issues quickly and consider it when determining how much the house is worth to ensure you don't overbid on a home. I told Jeffrey from the beginning that I never wanted to pay more for a house than what it was worth. He fought every step of the way to ensure that any bid we put on a home was within reason. I really can't say enough wonderful things about Jeffrey. Jeffrey will no doubt impress you with his knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to successfully negotiate his point to the seller to ensure you as the buyer are completely satisfied every step of the way. I like to feel confident about the financial decisions I make, and my husband and I felt very confident with Jeffrey. Working with Jeffrey is having a superior researcher, data analyst, financial advisor, marketer, and attorney all in one. Hmmm...what to say about Jeffery Schnabel. Just let me start by saying that my girlfriend and I were first time home buyers. We really didn't know much about it or what to expect. When we started looking for houses in January we did the proverbial "my friends LOVED their realtor, you should really use them". And so we did. Big mistake. Then we decided to go with a family friend! Yea that was a terrible idea too. Sorry guys, never use friends or family as a realtor. Then we found Jeffrey. After reading his great reviews I decided to give him a call. I couldn't have ended up more thrilled with that choice. From day one, we sat down in his office and he asked what we wanted out of a house. Of course we underestimated what we could really spend and had a giant list of specifics. Jeff sat there patiently and listened and would chime in here and there with a question that we hadn't thought of yet. Then he told us, "Look, sometimes people may have an issue with the way I help as a realtor because I'm going to tell you like it is. You're going to come to me and I'm going to tell you what you DONT want more than what you think you want." And that was exactly what we were looking for. From then on Jeff visited, literally, dozens of homes with us from new builds to resales. Always asking what we liked or didn't like, and trying to hone in on the exact perfect fit for us. He was always patient and always helpful. That's the thing about Jeffrey, he is easily one the most knowledgeable realtors in the business. Whether its construction, pricing of the work, or even plant life! He seems to know it all. And when it came to the buying process, look no further. He had all the answers we needed and even the answers we didn't know we needed! There's no way we could've done this with out him. Jeffrey Schnabel was a tremendous help in my home search. Throughout the whole process, he was always available when I needed something, and he was always ready to answer all my questions in details.

It took a long time for me to find a place I like, since I had some very specific area of town in mind. Jeffrey was very patient, he never pressured me and gave me all the tools I needed to search. He even explained how I can best look for places that are for sale by owner. He went beyond the usual responsibilities and as a result I managed to find and purchase a home that was not even on the market yet. By the time we found a home I liked, the market was really on the sellers' side, so we had to do some tough negotiating. Jeffrey handled this very skillfully, and still without pressuring me.

Just when we found this place, I had to go out of town for part of the negotiating/closing process. Jeffrey's assistance was really valuable to help me through every step of it, including advice on inspections and HOA issues and explaining to me in detail how to arrange mobile signing, so that I did not have to fly back to town for the closing.

Given all the difficulties of my search and then being out of town just when we finally found a place I like, I certainly could not have managed all this without Jeffrey's help.

My wife and I worked with Jeffrey Schnabel as our realtor. The word realtor is not really an accurate description, as if I had to rate him on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd rate him as 15. He exceeded our expectations by a huge margin. As we were completely new to the U.S. real estate market, he took a tremendous amount of time to educate us on the entire process, and help us get comfortable with the quirks of a transaction. He always made himself available whenever we had anything going on, and was always timely to respond to our inquiries and proactively handle the matters regarding our case.

He showed great knowledge of the local market down to the subdivision level, and amazed me with his skills which could make him a house inspector 2-in-1. I have historically bought and sold homes without agents, as technology and a little pro-activity have narrowed the information gap between agents and savvy home buyers/sellers. Working with Jeffrey has completely changed my perception of the value an agent can add to a real estate transaction. He is outstanding.

His knowledge of the market and trends - down to the neighborhood - was incredibly useful, especially when we had to move quickly with offers. When we arrived at different homes it was like having a built-in home inspection with every showing. He spotted issues I would have never picked up that significantly affected the proper valuation of a property. My partner and I moved from Chicago to Austin, and after some research, decided to go with Jeffrey Schnabel from Realty Austin to help us with our home search. Even before leaving Chicago, he had impressed us with his detailed knowledge of the area. It is with his help that we were able to target an area for our search, even when we had never set foot here before. Jeffrey had also helped us by checking out our temporary apartment that we rented on a month-to-month basis during our home search. He took pictures and video that made us feel more comfortable about it being a suitable place for us prior to our arrival. It was something he had offered to do without our asking, and that gave us an idea of how thorough he was throughout the process.

Not only that, he's extremely tech savvy, which we really liked and appreciated, because he could easily do research at showings and when we were ready to place an offer, we could do it quickly with online forms and signature, rather than having to go back and forth with physical documents. It was not only more convenient, but when time is of the essence in a quick-draw housing market, efficiency was essential.

In addition, as a father himself, he offered invaluable advice on the school system, which was our main criteria for our home's location. During the showings, he was frank with the details, and he was helpful in educating us in features of the home and the home-buying process itself, which was new to us. In the end, we went with a FSBO property, and his input had swayed the sellers in leaving us many high-end appliances that we otherwise would have had to purchase ourselves.

Near closing, our lender almost fell through with the closing date and it was Jeffrey's phone calls and letters to the right people that landed us at exactly where we needed to be. In essence, he saved the day! We're very fortunate to have had Jeffrey guide us through this often painful process and in securing us our beautiful new home. It was truly a pleasure to work with him, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone else looking for a home in Austin.
