After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1989 from the University of Texas at Austin, Jeff pursued an interest in the financial industry as a Financial Consultant. The excitement of Wall Street lead him to New York City in 1991 where he learned the art of direct-access equities trading on both the Nasdaq and NYSE markets.
In November of 1992, Jeff co-founded Block Trading, Inc in Houston and was, in part, credited with nationally commercializing a means of direct-access computerized trading known as SOES (Small Order Execution System) Trading. While attending the Jones Graduate School of Business, Rice University Management Program in 1997, Jeff and Block Trading were awarded the #1 spot in the Houston 100 - Houston’s 100 Fastest-Growing Small Businesses presented by the University of Houston Small Business Development Center and the Greater Houston Partnership.
Following the closure of Block Trading in 1999, Jeff pursued his other passion of architecture, homebuilding and real estate by establishing PAK Interests, a luxury homebuilding company focused primarily on quality spec construction in Central and West Houston. With his partner, Stonehenge Classic Homes, Jeff received numerous homeshow awards for design and construction of Houston's most unique properties.
In 2010, following the economic downturn and subsequent housing crisis, Jeff’s reflection on his prior experience led to the question of why more data isn’t made available to consumers in the residential real estate market. This question combined with his love for technology motivated Jeff to start NuHabitat in 2012 in a pursuit to bring improved transparency, speed and accuracy of property listing information to consumers during their online home search. While becoming a REALTOR in 2012, Jeff joined Nino Properties in Houston to assist with Digital Strategic Planning and use his homebuilding knowledge to help others in the process of buying and selling homes.
Now calling Austin, TX his home, Jeff joined Realty Austin, Austin’s leading real estate Brokerage with more than $2.0 billion in home sales in 2015 and over 350 agents. As Director of Online Development, Jeff will continue to pursue building a best-in-class online home search experience.
Jeff’s affiliations past and present include Board of Trustees The Fay School, the Houston Association of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Greater Houston Builders Association, Texas Association of Home Builders, National Association of Home Builders, Member Holocaust Museum Houston and Member Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity.
