Favorite Places in Austin

Ellen enjoys jogging at Town Lake (Lady Bird Lake), taking the kids to Zilker Park and eating at Moonshine Grill or Perla's on South Congress. Her favorite Austin lakes are Lake Travis for boating and water skiing and Lake Austin for stand-up paddle boarding. Ellen’s best shopping experiences include Austin’s downtown retail districts (2nd Street, West End, and SOCO), along with The Domain in North Austin.


Ellens Interest

Ellen, along with her two daughters, leads a very active lifestyle. She enjoys attending sporting events and live music all over Texas. Ellen has a strong passion for travel and loves the company of family and friends. She enjoys yearly trips to the Wine Country in Southern California and skiing in Colorado. More recently, she has ventured out to France and Italy. She fell in love with the art, history, and culture of these cities.

I cannot possibly say enough wonderful things about Ellen Outlaw. She was so much more than our realtor, she was our advocate, and I have never worked with a realtor that worked so hard to help our family make this monumental step forward. My wife and I moved to Austin about a year ago, for work,  with no real idea what was going to come next, except our plan to start a family and make a better life for ourselves.  Part of the plan was to buy our first home when the time was right.  We were very cautious of this last goal, as timing and financing had to be right.  As would be true for most.

When we finally felt ready to look for a home we decided to work with Ellen Outlaw, because she had helped a few of our friends with buying their homes and we received lots of positive feedback about their experience working with her.  

Buying your first home is a somewhat overwhelming right of passage.  Having to navigate through what you want, what is really out there, understanding the legal jargon and of course the roller coaster of emotions that come with buying in Austin where homes go on the market and are under contract in a matter of hours can be crazy.  Wait, what just happened..? - seems to be par for the course.

Well, we couldn't say enough great things about Ellen!  Her professionalism, work ethic, ability to relate to our needs and really listen, and of course her ability to keep things on track and seize the moment all culminated in a great first time buying experience for us.  It really meant a lot to us that we had someone to not just guide us through the process, but really help us understand how to get what we wanted.  Ellen did just that and we are truly grateful we had the opportunity to meet her and work with her.  She really helped make our dreams come true!

My husband and I moved to Austin during the super hot summer of 2009. I was 7 months pregnant and incredibly motivated to find a house that would suit our growing family. We were new to the Austin area and didn't have a clue about the city or the housing market. We found an amazing realtor named Ellen Outlaw. She's an Austin native who knows the city backwards and forwards. She found a house that we loved in just a matter of weeks. We ended up in Southwest Austin (which we love), and which is the fastest growing real estate sector in the city. SO, not only do we love our house and love our neighborhood, but our house has already accrued value in just the few short years we've lived here. I also liked the fact that she showed us houses in our price range. I've had experience with other realtors in the past where they will only show you houses above the top of your budget, and that is really annoying.
