As a local native to Austin, Dana has enjoyed watching Austin transform into the vibrant city that it has become today. After graduating a year early from James Bowie High School, she realized that she wanted to take her life in a more creative direction and enrolled into Cosmetology school. During her 5 years as a Stylist, Dana learned the importance of cultivating lifetime relationships. Having come from an intense internship with a renowned Paul Mitchell stylist, it’s been ingrained into her to always be able to effectively manage time, to always find the solution to any questions or concerns, and most importantly to communicate quickly and in detail. The time spent in that industry taught her to always believe in her tenacious spirit, while never being afraid to speak someone's truth. Dana promises to get to the core of your “why” and to do her best to help you move in that direction. 

Dana also grew up in and around the real estate industry, attending appointments, showings, and closings since childhood. Upon entry into the industry, Dana underwent an intensive, hands-on internship with her mother, her mentor and now partner, Linda Takenaka, a 21-year Real Estate veteran. Since then Dana has been able to showcase her personality, her approach to business and her relationship skills with all her clients. Working together, Linda and Dana are now The Takenaka Team. Dana is committed to making it her mission to ensure all her clients are able to not only understand but to enjoy every step of the real estate process and their transaction. Dana’s goal is to make sure her clients always get the communication and information they require every step along the way!

I spoke with Dana starting at the beginning of May. We were wanting to relocate. There was no need to rush because this move was occurring out of a want rather than a need. She understood that we were going to be extremely selective in the area in which we moved. Dana also understood that we were willing to wait a year or two if we needed. Luckily a house that we liked came on the market in one of the selected areas my wife and I had picked out. Dana made the process of getting pre-approved, to making an offer, to closing very easy. She was available via text, phone call, or email way more often than she should be, but this did make us feel like our transaction was just as important to her as it was to our family.

Dana was professional in all interactions but also wanted to get to know our family. We now have a personal relationship with Dana because of this experience, and I do not think this friendship will end after we close on the sale of our house. The sale of our house was and is much more nerve-wracking than the purchasing of our new home. Dana has successfully guided us through accepting a contingent offer and getting the contingency removed from the offer through the successful negotiation of a backup offers. It's been ten days from closing on the sale of our home, and it seems to be moving along very smoothly. We could not be any more happy with both transactions and our choice of a Realtor.

My husband immediately liked Linda's straightforward communication style when we met her at an open house. My husband told me "I could work with her" as we went to our car. We began working with her shortly after that. Linda always tells us the way things are, not what we want to hear. Dana Takenaka was our agent. Dana met with us in our home and went through a presentation of Realty Austin, explaining their capabilities and support for marketing our home. She then explained some strategies, her approach to the sales process, her comp sales list, etc. After some discussion, we agreed on our sales price. A few days later she arranged for a photographer and after the pictures were complete, allowed us to suggest additional pictures of River Park to add to the appeal of the property (the online tour was excellent). The house was listed, and we had a contract offer the same day! After a little negotiating, the sales price was agreed to and we began the other activity associated with a sale. Overall a very smooth process, led by Dana. She was very courteous and professional throughout the process, and we were very comfortable that we were in good hands! Dana Takenaka is so amazing; we wish we could give her a zillion stars! We recently purchased our first home with the help and expertise of Dana. We were very nervous about the entire process, as we were not only first-time homebuyers, but we were also doing everything remotely as we are relocating from Brooklyn. We were referred to Dana by a close friend in Austin, and from day one she put us at ease. She provided us with a ton of information on the market and walked us through the home buying process step by step. Dana answered every single question we had (and believe me, we had a LOT of them), and she listened to what we wanted and needed. Dana hit the streets immediately, and with her expertise of the area, along with the knowledge of what we were looking for, she was able to come back with tons of options for us that had the things we were looking for.
