Background
Connie settled in Austin after graduation from the University of Texas and began her real estate career during the market crash of the mid-1980s. It was an enlightening experience, to say the least. She served as an asset manager for banking institutions, developers, and private investors. Weathering numerous economic ups and downs over the years helps her keep perspective and equilibrium during changing market conditions.
In 2005, she left commercial real estate and earned her real estate salesperson’s license to sell residential real estate. In 2012, she enhanced her professional qualification by obtaining her broker’s license.
In addition to her real estate work, for decades she assisted her husband Neal (a former TV News anchor, author, and businessman) in the weekly publication of The Neal Spelce Austin Letter. Together, they tracked Austin’s economic, political, high tech and real estate transformation from a quiet college/state government town to the vibrant fast-growing metro it is today.
Personal
Connie and Neal are longtime Austinites who know and appreciate the variety of cultures and neighborhoods that thrive here. Their children and grandchildren received their education from Eanes School District. Their oldest grandson is now pursuing undergraduate education at Texas Tech University, and their second grandson is currently a proud Senior at Westlake High School. Their entire family is active in community endeavors. She is proud to work for Realty Austin who gives so much via philanthropy to this vibrant city.
They are strong supporters of the University of Texas. In their leisure time, they enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, and taking long drives photographing the beautiful Texas Hill Country.
