Chad has a keen knowledge of central Austin neighborhoods, having lived in and around the city center since the early 90’s. He takes pride in going above and beyond to exceed client expectations while continuing to educate himself on market trends and building standards. He has long been fascinated with architecture and design and, as an agent, he is highly organized, attentive and exceptional at managing tasks with efficiency and focus. Chad represents buyers and sellers in the greater Austin metro with an emphasis on central Austin Luxury homes, condominiums, and Investment properties.

Originally from Ft Worth, Chad moved to Austin in 1993 to pursue a degree in English Literature. After graduating, he worked for Hoover’s, Inc., a sales intelligence solution for sales and marketing professionals. While there, he was an integral part of the sales team that led the company beyond their NASDAQ IPO and subsequent acquisition by Dun & Bradstreet. Following his stint at Hoover's, Chad shifted gears to open Tambaleo, a popular downtown bar, where he served as the owner/operator until the property was sold to make way for one of Austin’s first 40+ story condominiums. From there he transitioned into the IT Remarketing Industry with a local Austin firm before ultimately breaking away to co-found NSR, an IT asset disposition and technology remarketing firm that has prospered since early 2009. Along the way, he has actively chased investment opportunities in Tech and Real Estate, which eventually lead him to get licensed in 2016.

Having lived in central Austin for over 25 years, Chad has witnessed the growth from a small college town to the booming city it is today. He resides in Pemberton Heights with his wife Leah and two kids, Charlie and Maggie. Chad and his family love being outdoors, spending time on Lake Austin, trying new restaurants and catching music with friends. He is an avid cyclist who has spent over 20 years traversing the cities elaborate trail and greenbelt systems. He also loves to fish, having explored countless rivers from the Texas hill country down to the gulf coast.

Chad Mize and his team are the best and made our first home buying experience more fun than it was stressful. Chad picked us up and showed us 20 properties within two days and quickly picked up on our likes and dislikes and was able to point out pros and cons to properties, as well as solutions for anything we didn't necessarily love in a house. He has a great sense of humor and good taste in music to boot, which made it even easier for my partner and I to spend a few days with him.

Not only did he help us find a great home, but he also explained the neighborhoods, local attractions, and walked us through the steps and expectations in the process, so that nothing felt overwhelming or unclear. Since we are remote, he also helped facilitate some home repairs and, in general, has been a trusted and accountable party in Austin. We really can't speak highly enough of Chad and the Realty Austin team. If we purchase another home, you can bet this is the team we will work with!
