Students in The Woods of Westlake are fortunate to attend schools in the Eanes Independent School District. Eight of the nine schools in Eanes ISD are rated Exemplary by the Texas Education Agency – the best designation possible in Texas – and seven of nine are National Blue Ribbon Schools. Eanes students score well above the state average on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). Westlake High School has been named in Newsweek’s Top 100 schools and was recognized in a 2013 national ranking of top high schools by U.S. News and World Report.
The Woods of Westlake is home to some of the best-appointed abodes you’ll find in Westlake. Residents enjoy the close proximity of many natural and man-made amenities, with the Barton Creek Greenbelt in their backyards and the facilities of Westlake High School, some open to the public, just blocks away. The Greenbelt is one of Austin’s iconic green spaces, with miles of trails, lush foliage, and spring-fed swimming holes set amongst limestone cliffs. In less than five minutes, residents will find themselves at the Barton Creek Square Mall, with some of the best shopping and entertainment in the area.
The Woods of Westlake sits in one of the best locations in town. Many homes back up onto Austin’s famous Barton Creek Greenbelt. Students can walk to class throughout their school-age years, as Westlake High and its surrounding primary schools are just blocks away. Loop 360 runs along the eastern edge of this community, quickly meeting up with Mopac Loop 1 and then Highway 71, giving residents superior access to all of South, Central, and West Austin. Downtown is just a quick jaunt on Bee Cave Rd through beautiful Zilker Park, and Austin-Bergstrom Airport is less than 20 minutes away.
