Meridian is located in Southwest Austin, next to the Grey Rock Golf Club and and just minutes from MoPac.

What is the average price of the homes in Meridian?

Meridian has 3 sections. The first section features 55-foot homesites with prices ranging from $250,000 to $350,000. The second section offers 70-foot homesites, with homes starting at $350,000 up to $500,000. The third section offers 100-foot homesites, with homes ranging from $400,000 up to $700,000 or more. In the future, Meridian will offer estate-size homesites of an acre or more, with homes up to $1 million-plus.

What is the average age of the homes?

Meridian is a newer community with the majority of homes built in 2007 and 2008.

What is the average size of the homes?

Homes in the first section range from 2,000 to 3,200 square feet. Homes in the second section start at 2,800 square feet and can be as large as 3,800 square feet. Homes in the third section range from 3,000 to 4,500 square feet.

Meridian’s location — next to the Grey Rock Golf Club and just minutes from Mopac — is a primary reason why residents choose to live in Meridian.

What are some the negatives of living there?

The neighborhood is still under construction, so residents living in the newer phases of each section will encounter the hassle of living next to a construction site. Meridian is also on the outskirts of Southwest Austin, past Circle C, so it is an additional 5 minutes from shopping, restaurants, and other businesses. One of the biggest complaints about Meridian right now is that you have to make a u-turn from Highway 45 to enter the neighborhood, but thankfully, a new access road will be built to allow easier access into the community if you are traveling south on Highway 45.

What are the public schools like?

The current schools for Meridian are Nan Clayton Elementary (in Circle C), Clint Small Middle and Bowie High School. Land has been set aside within the Meridian community for a new elementary school, which will begin construction once the bonds are approved. There are also plans for a new middle school to be constructed on FM 1826, between Highways 45 and 290.

How close are the schools to Meridian?

All of the schools are within a 5 to 10-minute drive. Nan Clayton Elementary, which is located in Circle C, is less than a 5-minute drive. Small Middle School is located on Monterey Oaks, which is a 10-minute drive from Meridian. Bowie High School is located on Slaughter Lane and is a 5-minute drive from Meridian.

What is the traffic like when commuting to downtown?

The drive from Meridian to downtown can take from 10 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic. There is a 1 to 2-mile stretch on MoPac where Meridian residents will hit traffic if they travel during commuter hours. The traffic moves (although slowly) and the drive does not take much longer than it does during non-commute hours.

How long does it take to commute downtown?

The commute downtown takes approximately 10 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic.

How long does it take to drive to the airport?

Meridian is approximately 19 miles from the airport and is a 20 to 25-minute drive.
