The veloway is a 3.17 mile, 23-foot wide paved trail that winds through Slaughter Creek Metropolitan Park. In a very secluded area of the park, riders enjoy being away from street traffic and noise. The trail is designed for bicyclers and rollerbladers; walkers and runners are prohibited. There are also great baseball and soccer leagues in the area for kids, and Grey Rock Golf Course Club is just a few miles away.

Many people enjoy running or cycling the trails in the area or going to one of the several local gyms. Lifetime Fitness is the newest gym in the area, and it has everything from indoor/outdoor pools with water slides to basketball, racquetball and a rock wall. It is great for the entire family.

Everything from swimming to soccer, baseball, and football is available. There are also great dance, gymnastics, tea kwon do and other activities available.

I live with my family in Western Oaks, which wraps around Legend Oaks. Actually, we have owned two homes in the neighborhood. My children attend Mills Elementary and I am active with the school and Austin ISD. My kids participate in community activities, from Girl Scouts to Tae Kwon Do to baseball. I have lived in the area for over 10 years and have seen a lot of positive growth here. It is one of the best neighborhoods in Austin!
