One of the main reasons residents choose the suburb of Round Rock over other neighborhoods in the Greater Austin area is the exceptional school system. The Round Rock Independent School District has received some of the best school rankings in the state of Texas in the last few years. Of the 42 schools in the district, 12 were rated Exemplary and 11 were rated Recognized by the Texas Education Agency. Roughly 45,000 students are served by Round Rock ISD. There are also a number of private schools and higher education facilities in the area that provide a lot of educational options for the Round Rock region. Private schools in the area include Hill Country Christian School, Brentwood Christian Academy, and Round Rock Christian Academy.

Round Rock is Austin’s largest suburb. But residents of Round Rock have access to a lot of the amenities you’d expect in a major city, rather than a suburb. Round Rock’s excellent parks system maintains a multitude of parks, greenbelts, and creeks scattered throughout town, giving the outdoorsy type plenty of activities to choose from. Old Settlers Park in particular is not to be missed: 645 acres of ball fields, trees, and the Rock ’N River waterpark offer more fun than you can fit into a single weekend.
