Discovery Well Cave Preserve
Did you know that there are over 1,000 caves in Texas and 750 of them are in Williamson County? Cedar Park, TX is quickly becoming known as the Texas Cave Capital. It is home to the Discovery Well Cave Preserve, made up of ten individual caves that are open to the public.
Discovery Well Cave Preserve is home to rare species such as the Tooth Cave Ground beetle. It is one of the few caves in Texas where visitors can experience hands-on learning and enjoy scenic hiking. The preserve often hosts educational events such as Cave Day, where visitors can hike the cave preserves, enter selected caves, and see a a century-old log cabin.
The Discovery Well Cave Preserve is located at the corner of Anderson Mill Road and Lime Creek Road in Cedar Park. It is free and open to the public. On top of these gorgeous caves, Cedar Park is a wonderful place to live in North Austin, as it offers a nice break from the business of the downtown lifestyle. Plus, you are a quick car ride (or bike ride) to the famous Texas Hill Country and can enjoy the award-winning Leander ISD school district. New homes in Cedar Park are popping up each week!
