The purpose of the Mueller community was to implement a vision of a walkable community with parks, shopping, services, and neighborhood centers, with a mix of lofts, homes, townhouses, and apartments that make the area attractive to many different buyers and renters. Mueller homes for sale are just northeast of Downtown Austin, located at the site of the old Austin Airport. The current boundaries are Interstate 35 to the west, Manor Rd to the east, Airport Blvd to the south, and 51st St to the north. All homes and condos for sale in Mueller are new, as this is a master-planned community built from the infrastructure up, with the first homes being completed in 2007. Homes in Mueller range from 1,400 to 3,600 square feet, with an average size of around 1,900 to 2,000 square feet. In addition to the high quality of the homes themselves, this area features beautiful natural-growth parkland and walking trails, and the Mueller development itself includes lots of retail and dining options, including a new H-E-B grocery. Students of Mueller go to schools in Austin ISD.

Mueller students go to schools in the Austin Independent School District. AISD is the fifth-largest school district in Texas, serving over 85,000 students at 129 schools. The Fine Arts Academy (FAA) at McCallum High School provides the opportunity for students across Austin to pursue an accelerated curriculum in dance, music, visual art, or theater. Upper-level dance majors get experience staging and choreographing while senior theater majors may choose to focus on either performance or technical theater, often directing and staging their own productions. FAA musicians earned the national GRAMMY Signature School for Excellence in Music Education and Recording Arts award and have performed on the stages of the Long Center and Carnegie Hall.
Residents of the Mueller development enjoy a master-planned community that is unique in its goals of creating a walkable, bikeable, and environmentally sustainable community. Located just outside of Austin’s central city core, many Mueller homes for sale have fantastic views of the Downtown skyline, and the area features several incredible man-made water features, greenbelts, and parks galore. When venturing out of this beautiful community built on the site of the old Austin Airport, residents are just a short bike ride or stroll from some of the best streets and neighborhoods in Austin. Mueller is constantly growing and adding more retail and dining options to its already very convenient and well-rounded shopping centers.

Mueller is located just three miles northeast of downtown Austin. The current boundaries are I-35 to the west, Manor Road to the east, 51st Street to the north, and Airport Boulevard to the South. It’s about a 15 minute drive to the airport. It’s also conveniently located two miles to the University of Texas campus.

There are a variety of styles represented in Mueller, from homes with more craftsman and traditional influences to those with more modern architecture. The first homes were built in 2007, with new homes still available. Prices range from the 170 for homes eligible in the Mueller Affordable Program to estate homes in excess of $1 million. The completion of all phases of Mueller, including commercial, retail, and residential projects is estimated to be the year 2025. When complete, Mueller will be home to 5,700 residences, with 25 percent of those being in the Mueller Affordable Program.

The public schools residents attend are part of Austin Independent School District. Children with either attend Maplewood or Blanton Elementary, Kealing or Pearce Middle School, and Reagan or McCallum High School. Mueller has some fantastic amenities already in place or planned for the future. There will be 140 acres of parks and over 13 miles of hike and bike trails when complete.

Right now, we’re standing in front of Mueller Lake Park, which is a 30-acre park surrounded by a six and a half acre lake for residents to enjoy. Mueller will also be home to the Austin Children’s Museum located near Town Center. Del Children’s Hospital is located within the community, and St. David’s Hospital is located approximately one mile south. Mueller will be home to 650,000 square feet of retail space, much of which is complete or under construction.

The broad spectrum of housing options allows people from different walks of life and budgets to live close to downtown and enjoy wonderful amenities.

The Mueller development is located just east of Interstate 35 and the Cherrywood neighborhood, built along Airport Blvd and on top of the site of the old Austin Airport. Residents can easily be Downtown in minutes either by traveling through the vibrant East Side neighborhoods that separate them from the city center, or by taking Interstate 35 a few exits. Taking Airport Blvd south leads residents right to the current Austin-Bergstrom Airport, while taking that road north will lead them into the picturesque neighborhoods of Central Austin that border their community to the northwest, namely Hyde Park and north campus. The area is also popular for students, as the University of Texas is just a few minutes east of here.
