What are the public schools like in Rough Hollow? Lake Travis is a Recognized District. We have 1 high school, 2 middle schools and 5 elementary schools. We have a very good parental involvement. The community is proud of this school district and they get very involved. Just try out one of our Lake Travis football games to see for yourself. You don't need to have a child in the district — everyone goes.

Are there any private schools near Rough Hollow? There are no private schools nearby, but many people don’t mind the drive to St. Andrews or St. Stephens, and there might be a carpool to join.

Are there any pre-schools near Rough Hollow? There are several pre-schools in the area and a couple are new. The Lakeway church at Lohman’s Crossing and Lakeway Blvd. has a popular pre-school, as does the Lake Travis United Methodist Church on 620, near Debba Street.

Are there any organized community groups or community activities in Rough Hollow? Lakeway has an activity center that offers classes ranging from oil painting to yoga. They also have a community theater group. The city park in Lakeway has fun runs, Fourth of July celebrations, and "Movie in the Park Nights" during the summer. There are featured speakers and brown-bag lunches to hear visiting musicians.

What are the most sought after streets in Rough Hollow? Although many streets are beautiful and everyone has a different idea of what they would like to see, I love Canyon Turn Trail, with its gorgeous views of the green hills, coming down to limestone cliffs and the blue lake.

Where do people go out to eat in Rough Hollow? We have more dining choices all the time. Not far at all are the all-time favorites: Hudson’s on the Bend and the Oasis. But, we also have a wonderful sushi bar called Misu, great Thai food at Thai Spice, and excellent Italian at Rocco's and Ciola's. Now, you can also go to Hill Country Galleria for more choices, such as Fish City Grill, Panera Bread, and Iron Cactus (coming soon). And across the street, there is Little Woodrow's.

Where do people shop for groceries in Rough Hollow? Most people will shop at the newly remodeled Randall's just across 620 because it is closest. However, HEB is not much farther.

Where do people workout in Rough Hollow? We have several workout choices; The Hills of Lakeway, Body Wise, and Gold's Gym are just some of them.

What kind of organized sports are offered in Rough Hollow? Lake Travis Youth Association is a non-profit organization that offers 12 sports leagues. The beautiful facility, Field of Dreams, is located off 620.

What is the traffic like when commuting to downtown? If you leave before 8 AM, you can make it all the way through Lakeway with little to no traffic. After 8 AM, there is some traffic from students driving to the high school. This clears up beyond the school, but it can take awhile to get through.

How long does it take to commute downtown from Rough Hollow? You can make it downtown in 25 minutes unless there is traffic, which is unusual.

How long does it take to drive to the airport from Rough Hollow? It is an easy drive and it only takes about 35 to 40 minutes.
