The Ridge at Alta Vista is a newer community in the Lake Travis area. It offers brand new homes as well as homes not more than 3 years old.

What is the average size of the homes?

The Ridge at Alta Vista offers 3 types of homes, including townhomes that range from 1,600 to 2,200 square feet and single-family homes. The single-family communities offer your more typical 2,400 to 4,000-square foot homes, and Estate homes from 3,500 to 5,500 square feet, on estate-sized lots.

How long do homes stay on the market?

There aren't many negatives about living in The Ridge at Alta Vista, but if I had to pick one it would be the fact that this is a tract home community and not a custom home community. Like many neighborhoods that offer new homes, buyers can customize the interior of the homes, but from the outside, the homes have a very similar look to them.

What are the public schools like?

Students in the Ridge at Alta Vista attend schools in the Lake Travis ISD, which is home to Lake Travis High School. The school won the 2008 State High School Football championship and is favored to win the 2009 title as well.

How close are the schools?

Lake Travis High School and Middle School are within a short walk, and Lake Point Elementary is within a 6-minute drive.

Are there any private schools nearby?

There are exceptional private pre-schools in the neighborhood, and private schools for higher grades are located within a 15-minute drive from The Ridge at Alta Vista.

There are exceptional pre-schools and childcare available all over the Lake Travis area. Some of the most popular preschools are Lakeway Church Christian Preschool and Lake Travis United Methodist.

The Ridge at Alta Vista has great amenities that include a community pool, club house, tennis courts, and kids' playground.

Are there any organized community groups or community activities?

There are many organized groups within the community; however, most homeowners use the amenities in Lakeway since they're only about a block away. The most popular Lakeway amenities are the World of Tennis, and membership at the Hills of Lakeway country club and Flintrock Falls golf course.

What are the most sought after streets?

All the streets have their own unique appeal. The community is etched into the hillside and all streets offer an incredible view of the Balcones Preserve.

What are the most popular neighborhoods?

The Ridge at Alta Vista is a master-planned community and there isn't one area more popular than any other. No matter where you live in the community, it will be your own favorite spot.

Where do people go out to eat?

With the community being located just off 620, you have a variety of dining options. From Sushi at Thai Spice or Mizu, Italian at Rocco's or Ciallo's, and Mexican at Flores or Verde's, to Seafood at Fish City Grill, or Steaks and American, we have it all.

Where do people shop for groceries?

There are great options for grocery shopping in the Lake Travis area. The area houses 2 of the largest chains, Randalls and HEB, as well as a number of community grocery stores. Both Randalls and HEB are currently expanding due to the growth of the Lake Travis area, with offerings such as cooking stations, gourmet food, extensive wine selections, and much more.

Where do people workout?

With the close proximity to Lakeway, most homeowners opt for a membership at The Hills of Lakeway country club, which offers a state-of-the-art workout facility right here in the community. It offers weights, cardio equipment, classes, trainers, snack bar with healthy options, and much more. If you are looking for one of the big chain facilities, we have those as well. For residents who want the more traditional chains, Gold's Gym is within a 5-minute drive.

What kind of organized sports are offered?

The area offers some of the best organized sports programs for children and adults. What ever your heart desires, we have it here to be played.

What is the traffic like when commuting to downtown?

Like any city that is growing at the rapid pace that Austin is growing, there will always be traffic at certain parts of the day. However, there are many routes to take to downtown from the community.

How long does it take to commute downtown?

The commute to downtown is approximately 20 minutes, but keep in mind that it is much closer than you think, and the only reason for the drive is that we need to go around the lakes to get there.

How long does it take to drive to the airport?

The airport is approximately 35 minutes from the community.
