Why do residents choose to live?

Sawyer Ranch appeals to many – it offers large homes with acreage lots, Hill Country views, and a great amenity center. There are a lot of neighborhood activities, and it is conveniently located just on the outskirts of Austin, in Dripping Springs. It also boasts Dripping Springs schools.

What are some the negatives of living?

I guess the biggest negative is the same for all Dripping Springs neighborhoods, and that is the lack of a large grocery store. HEB grocery is proposing a store in Dripping Springs, so that will fix the problem! In the meantime, there is a small grocery store about 5 minutes away, and it is only a 15-minute drive to Oak Hill for the closest HEB.

What are the public schools like?

The Dripping Springs school district is highly sought after.

How close are the schools?

The schools are within a 10-minute drive.

Are there any private schools nearby?

There are several leading private institutions located in nearby Austin, including St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, and Austin City Academy.

There are several pre-schools available in Dripping Springs, including Your Growing Child, First Baptist Church Preschool, Dripping Springs United Methodist Church Pre-School, and Montessori Country Day School.

What kind of amenities are offered?

Residents enjoy lots of swimming at the pool!

What are the most sought after streets?

All the streets in Sawyer Ranch are nice. The most popular are those with lots that have great, sweeping Hill Country views.

Where do people go out to eat?

Dripping Springs has a few restaurants, and there are dozens of choices in Southwest Austin, only about 15 to 20 minutes away.

Where do people shop for groceries?

Residents shop at the HEB in Oak Hill – about 15 minutes away.

Where do people workout?

There are many gyms in Southwest Austin, including Gold's Gym, 24-Hour Fitness, and Lifetime Fitness, to name a few.

What is the traffic like when commuting to downtown?

The "Y" at 71 and 290 can get a little congested at high-traffic times, but other than that, it isn’t bad.

How long does it take to commute downtown?

It takes about 25 to 30 minutes.

How long does it take to drive to the airport?

The airport is about 30 minutes away.

What makes you an expert in Sawyer Ranch?

I live in Driftwood, about 10 to 15 minutes from Sawyer Ranch, and I have friends who live in Sawyer Ranch!
