The average home size is approximately 3,400 square feet.

How long do homes stay on the market?

Homes in Driftwood stay on the market for about 3 months.

Why do residents choose to live there?

Some of the reasons people love Driftwood are its peaceful Hill Country views, easy commute, and beautiful homes. Plus, the area seems to be appreciating as new wineries pop up all over Driftwood. We now have Driftwood Winery and Mandola’s winery, and the owner of The Salt Lick restaurant is planting vineyards as we speak!

What are some the negatives of living there?

The closest grocery store is about a 15-minute drive from here.

Depending on where you live in Driftwood, you could be in Hays Independent School District, Dripping Springs ISD, or Wimberley ISD.

In addition to St. Stephens, there are several pre-schools in Dripping Springs, which is about 15 minutes away.

La Ventana is Driftwood’s premier, upscale, gated neighborhood. Rimrock has been very popular, offering homes by Mercedes and Lennar. There is a lot of variety depending on your needs, whether you want a full-scale custom home on an estate-sized acreage lot or a larger lot size and the competitive pricing of volume-built homes.

Where do people go out to eat?

The Salt Lick BBQ is known nationwide for its tantalizing BBQ and quaint Hill Country atmosphere. It offers live music on weekends and plenty of space for huge groups or weddings. Trattoria Lisina, the Italian bistro at Mandola Estate Winery, is the best choice in town for gourmet dining. It offers delicious, authentic Italian fare and local wines.

Where do people shop for groceries?

It's about a 15-minute drive to a really nice HEB at Slaughter Lane and Escarpment. That same shopping center also includes a Starbucks, a movie store, and a number of restaurants, banks, and other shops.

Where do people workout?

Residents workout in the amenity center of their neighborhood or drive into Southwest Austin to one of the many local gyms just 20 minutes away.

What is the traffic like when commuting to downtown?

The commute is not bad at all –- there isn’t a lot of congestion out this way.

How long does it take to commute downtown?

It takes about 30 minutes.

How long does it take to drive to the airport?

It takes about 40 minutes to drive to the airport.

What makes you an expert on Driftwood?

I live here and love it!
