Where exactly is Crestview located?

Crestview is a charming neighborhood of older homes in North Central Austin. It is bordered by Anderson Lane to the north and 2222 to the south, and by Lamar Blvd. to the east and Burnet Road to the west. With Austin’s expansion, Crestview has become considered centrally located.

What is the average age of the homes in Crestview?

Crestview is known for its quaint older homes built in the 1940’s and 1950’s.

What is the average size of the homes?

The average size of the homes found here is between 700 and 1,300 square feet. Most have 2 to 3 bedrooms and 1 to 2 bathrooms. Some homes have carports, some have garages, and some have no garage or carport. There is a mixture of homes in original condition and others that have been remodeled.

Why do residents choose to live in Crestview?

People like living in Crestview because of the feel of the neighborhood and its location close to town and schools. It is also known for having mature trees and large lots averaging about 9,000 feet.

What are some of the negatives of living there?

A downside of buying a home in Crestview is that the home may require some updating or remodeling at some point. Most people are happy to make the sacrifice to live in such a great location.

How close are the schools to Crestview?

Crestview students attend Brentwood Elementary, Lamar Middle School, and McCallum High School. Brentwood Elementary is located within the neighborhood, while the other schools are within blocks.

What kind of amenities are offered?

There is a great older retail strip with a MiniMax grocery store, a delicious deli, and a barber shop. There is even a local automotive shop. The redevelopment going on in the area includes some retail, residential, and restaurants. There will also be a new light rail station that will run from Central Austin to North Austin.

Are there any organized community groups or community activities?

The neighborhood does have social gatherings such as National Night Out, an Ice Cream Social, and Christmas festivities.

What are the most sought after streets in Crestview?

Some of the most sought after streets are Karen, Romeria, Ruth, and Aggie Lane; however, all streets in Crestview are great! Crestview actually consists of many different little pockets of neighborhoods, including Violet Crown Heights, Brentwood Terrace, Vallejo, and several others. Most of the public just refers to all of this area as Crestview.

How long does it take to commute downtown from Crestview?

The commute to downtown is about 7 to 10 minutes without traffic, and about 15 to 30 minutes with traffic.

How long does it take to drive to the airport?

The commute to the airport is about 20 minutes.

What makes you an expert in Crestview?

I own a rental property in the neighborhood, and I have owned several houses there and helped many buyers into to homes in the neighborhood. I am familiar with older homes and the issues that may come up in trying to sell them. I have plentiful knowledge to help clients with the process of buying or selling a home here!
