Round Rock: Google, Inc. announced interest in testing its new high-speed network in Round Rock, Texas. The California-based internet company wants to test a new broadband communications network that uses a super high-speed fiber network and has the ability to be 100 times faster than current internet service. Google is surveying residents in Rock Rock and asking them questions about their communications needs, including if they support Google testing in Round Rock, who is their service provider, what kind of connection do they have, and do they buy service packages. Surveying will continue through the end of March. Once Google reviews its reports, it will decide if Round Rock will be one of the test cites for the new ultra high-speed internet service before the end of this year.
