According to a recent study, Austin is the 4th most social media savvy city in the U.S. The study called the "Top 50 Social Media Report," was done by NetProspex, a sales and marketing database company. It analyzed the social media activity of professionals around the nation and found Austin to have one of the most social media-integrated parts of the nation. Rankings were based on the number of employees with social media profiles, the average number of connections per employee across all social networks, and the average number of updates. The social networks studied included Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, LinkedIn, Friendster, Flickr, LiveJournal, hi5 and Flixster.
Two of the cities are in Texas: Austin (#4) and Dallas (#11). See all of the reports rankings here.
