The Uplands is located in the City of Bee Cave, at the corner of Bee Caves Road and Highway 71. There is a gated entrance on Bee Caves Road and another gated entrance on Highway 71.

What is the average price of the homes?

The average price for a home in the Uplands is $629,000.

What is the average age of the homes?

The average age is 8 years, with construction ranging from 1996 to 2004.

What is the average size of the homes?

The average size of a home in the Uplands is 3,900 square feet.

How long do homes stay on the market?

Homes in the Uplands stay on the market for an average of 89 days.

Why do residents choose to live in the Uplands?

Residents choose to live in the Uplands for the large, level lots, some of which back to a preserve, as well as the gated community, the proximity to Austin with quick access to downtown via Bee Caves Road, quick access to the airport via Highway 71, and immediate access to the HEB grocery store and Hill Country Galleria.

What are the public schools like?

Children living in the Uplands attend Lake Travis Public Schools. Lake Pointe Elementary school is rated a 10 out of 10 by GreatSchools.com, Lake Travis Middle School is rated a 10 and Lake Travis High School is rated a 10.

The Uplands has an active HOA that organizes neighborhood potlucks and holiday events.

What are the most sought after streets?

The most sought after homes are different for each person; some will like the greenbelt, some will prefer the cul-de-sac lots, some will like being close to the gate for easy access. I don’t think there is just one street that is especially sought after.

Where do people go out to eat?

People go out to eat at the Bee Cave Bistro, Rosie's Tamale House, Buster’s BBQ, or one of the restaurants at the Galleria.

Where do people shop for groceries?

HEB is located just outside the Highway 71 entrance to the Uplands.

Where do people workout?

People can work out at Gold’s Gym, which is located across Bee Caves Road from the Uplands.

What kind of organized sports are offered?

Kids can play organized sports through the Lake Travis Youth Association, which offers tennis, basketball, volleyball, softball, baseball, and soccer.

What is the traffic like when commuting to downtown?

The commute to downtown takes residents along Bee Caves Road at about 60 MPH and through Westlake at 35 MPH. Then, it runs into downtown in stop-and-go traffic for the last mile or so.

How long does it take to commute downtown?

The downtown commute from the Uplands takes about 20 minutes in typical traffic.

How long does it take to drive to the airport?

It takes about 35 minutes to get to the airport from the Uplands.

What makes you an expert in the Uplands?

After living in the area for the last 12 years and having my children grow up with friends in the Uplands, I have gotten to be very familiar with the community and everything it has to offer.
