Known as the Central Austin Home Team, Kathy and Winona’s business is based on a genuine care for their clients and a unique balancing of strengths in assisting those they serve. ABOUT WINONA BARRON:

Winona is a 5th generation central Texan, with strong family ties to the Austin area. She enthusiastically shares stories and photos from early Austin, including photos of her grandfather as a teenage lifeguard at Barton Springs and as one of the first policeman to patrol Lake Austin.

Winona’s attention to detail, as well as her design and staging experience are advantageous to clients, whether preparing their home to sell or assisting clients in envisioning the “possibilities” of their new home purchase. As a prior Kathy and Winona client, I had high expectations.  They met and exceeded them all.  They got my listing up quickly and I had a contract within 2 days.  Closing was delayed due to my HOA not getting FHA certification renewal in time, but there was nothing Kathy and Winona could have done about this.  Bottom line, we did get the renewal and got closed.  I was working primarily with Winona until she had surgery, but Kathy took over without a hitch.  Kathy was very helpful in getting a rush put on the paperwork so that I could sign Friday so that I didn't have to return (which would mean a 400 mile round trip from/to Austin) to sign Monday with the buyer.  I am relocating to west Texas but would work with Kathy and Winona again if I ever return to central Texas.

Six years ago, Kathy and Winona sold me the house I listed this summer, and they really impressed me then. When it came time to sell, I contacted with the two of them. I live in Washington state, and Kathy and Winona offered the hand-holding that I needed because of the 2500 miles between me and the house. I was also significantly impressed with the the method and reasoning they used to come up with the listing price. And, before I signed with them, I did a lot of comparing of Realty Austin's and their Web sites to other realty firms' Web sites, and the quality of the Realty Austin photos compelled me to choose them ... and I'm soooo glad I did! I had only one contact with Winona ... when she and Kathy came to the house to talk to me about listing the house with them. They both gave excellent feedback about my plans for staging and advise on what cleanup and upgrades would and would not get me the best return on my investment, with Winona taking a bit of a lead here. They kept me from spending quite a bit of money unnecessarily. From that point on, I worked with Kathy ... and Kathy was awesome. Kathy kept me in the loop and comfortable throughout the whole absentee ordeal of selling the house. She checked on the house 2-3 times a week, even when she wasn't planning on being in the area, and kept me informed about what she did and how things looked. She helped me find great contractors and volunteered to check out the completed work. My primary goal when I listed the house was to get a quick sale ... yes, in this demoralizing market. Kathy and Winona helped me price the house RIGHT. We set a price that led the market; not one that chased it. And, I had the first offer before the sign was even in the yard. A second offer the second day, and a third offer the third day. And a signed contract the fourth day. Of course, Kathy and Winona believe that the pristine appearance of the house and its great staging contributed to the quick sale at a bit over the asking price. We had a contract in 4 days. Kathy's advice with pricing, listing, handling the inspection report, everything, was right on the money. Kathy was persistent with the escrow company during closing, ensuring that appropriate progress always continued. If anything slipped through the cracks, I don't know what it could have been. From listing to closing, Kathy anticipated my needs and the buyer's wants, and kept me ahead in the race. I can certainly recommend Kathy and Winona without qualification.
