Marie Dang-Schwartz - Bio

Even though they were not from Texas, Marie, her parents and five siblings called Lubbock home in 1975 as Vietnamese refugees. With very little money and a lot of help from her church, her parents were able to purchase a small home to raise their kids. Marie had an opportunity to graduate from Lubbock high school, and then attend college in Lubbock and Houston to study marketing. During college, she was an intern for a major department store where she later became a fashion merchandiser for 10 years. She also worked as a travel agent selling people dream vacations for extra income.

Her years working in the corporate market place and in public relations have helped Marie develop sophisticated business skills that she uses to provide excellent customer service. Marie started selling Austin real estate in 1998, but also has 5 years prior real estate experience in other markets. Marie’s experience and continuing education has given her an edge in the art of negotiation. Her highest priority is to keep up with the micro market trends to ensure her clients are equipped with the latest Austin market developments. Her vision is to provide an authentic perspective that includes cultural diversity awareness to help buyers, sellers, and investors achieve their goals. She specializes in new home construction, relocation, investments, purchases, and sales. Her passion is to help the first time homebuyer, like the realtor that helped her parents find their first home in a foreign land. Her expertise is in Northwest and Downtown Austin, Cedar Park, Leander, Round Rock, and Pflugerville.

Through her passion for the real estate business, her rewards have been acquiring on going and lasting friendships with her clients, and creating a true referral based business.

Marie is a member of the Austin Board of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors, the Texas Association of Realtors, the Actris multiple listing service, the Women’s Council of Realtors, and the Vietnamese Asian Community Organization. She holds her ABR, GRI, CRS, and TRLP designations.

When Marie is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband Steve and hanging out at home with her three little poodles: Timber, Gracey, and Jet. She also helps with her church and the Vietnamese community.

Marie is wonderful to work with. She listened to what I was saying I wanted, and never tried to sell me something I didn't want. I set the parameters and limits, and she found me homes to look at. We (my girlfriend, her daughter, and I) could tell that Marie wasn't trying to just find us a house, but a home.
