Kevin McCord - Bio

Kevin began his real estate career in 1999 doing apartment locating and residential leasing. He has a long history in the restaurant industry and was bartending at Chuy’s and Hula Hut when he attained his real estate license. With his past experience in customer service and the service industry, Kevin easily transcended into real estate. And for that, he is thankful. He moved from leasing over to sales in 2004 and has successfully completed over 175 real estate transactions since then. Kevin  has been a multi-million dollar producer since 2005. Many of those transactions have been repeat buyers and sellers, along with a healthy line of investors.

When working with sellers, Kevin is devoted to giving sound, honest advice on pricing and property condition.  Noticing that most of the “traditional agents” in the industry do not have a repeatable, proven process to sell homes for top dollar, Kevin brings in this type of  system that optimizes a seller’s chances of increasing their bottom line after a sale. Selling a home is about processes. Not promises.

When working with buyers, he is far from the “norm”.  Besides previewing every home before he shows it to his clients, his clients will take comfort in knowing that he previews over 200 homes on a monthly basis and knows his market better than anyone. He makes sure that his clients get the home that best fits their needs and ideals, and also make sure that they get it for the lowest possible price, with the best possible terms and within their necessary timeframe. With his CNE (Certified Negotiation Expert) certificate, Kevin is confident that he can make all of this happen time and time again.

Kevin splits his time between buyers and sellers; he likes the opportunity to mix things up and keep it interesting by working with both types of clients. His primary focus is Northwest,  Central and  West Austin -- including both lakefront and luxury homes -- Cedar Park and West Round Rock. He puts a lot of time and effort into working near home in Avery Ranch and near his office Downtown.

When Kevin has free time his first choice is to spend it with his amazing wife and two beautiful children. Besides real estate, his other passion is music. Kevin has been singing, playing and writing music for 10 years, mostly for fun  and friends and family, but who knows what the future holds? He also enjoys playing golf, working out, cooking and working in the yard.

Our last home was extremely difficult to sell. We were hit by uncertain lending conditions, a disorganized condo association, insurance problems, defective windows, and just about any other problem you can imagine. We had previously tried to sell the home and given up, renting it for a year before Kevin showed up.

Immediately, Kevin knew who to call and what to do. We got the place cleaned up and had an offer in short order. He then helped us through the lengthy process of getting our buyer's lender happy with our HOA documents (which needed to be rewritten) and our condo insurance policy (which needed to be replaced). At every turn, Kevin knew exactly which specialist to call to get something done quickly and inexpensively. He was determined, aggressive, and kept a cool head throughout a very challenging transaction.
