James DeLoney - Bio

James grew up in Southeast Texas in the town of Port Arthur.  After completing high school in 1988, he moved to Austin to study at the University of Texas, where he graduated in 1992 with a degree in Humanities.  He then attended Texas State University, where he graduated in 1995 with a Master’s Degree in Counseling.  James spent the next 12 years working in the field of youth and family services with multidimensional organizations providing counseling, residential services, and educational programming.  His endless quest for knowledge brought him back to school and he earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2003.  Leveraging his experience, leadership, and education to advance alternative youth education and programming, he progressed to Senior and Executive level positions in the Non-Profit sector.
 
A series of high return real estate investments in Austin’s housing market helped transform a casual interest into a professional real estate career.  In May of 2007, James left his position as an Executive Manager to build a world-class real estate practice.  His servant's heart is now committed to helping others achieve their dreams one home at a time.

I had a wonderful experience with James Deloney.  He was very professional but very personable.  I am a brand new home buyer and considering the time constraint James I were working under, he kept his cool about everything and never stressed about not being able to find a home for me.  We searched for homes for a little over a months time, and finally found the perfect one that I closed on recently.  James paid close attention to my style, details, and price range.  He never showed me anything that was over my budget.  He was very honest about the properties and I felt very comfortable asking every possible question I had, even dumb questions!  When the lenders would send me paper work to sign, James would run through it first and then explain all the information to me.  Whenever we looked at a property together, he was very patient in allowing me to take my time walking around the home, and was very knowledgable and prepared for questions about the property.  He was NEVER aggressive or pushed me to like a particular home.  He also worked with my parents and was very patient with their demands as well.  During our last walk through with the builder, James carefully inspected the home for every little detail and used up more tape than I did!  It was so helpful to have an extra set of keen eyes.  As a first time home buyer, James really came through for me.  I don't think I would have had such an amazing first experience if it had not been for James.  I feel as though I have developed a friendship with James and hope to continue to work with him in the future.  I would definitely, absolutely, positively recommend James to any of my friends or colleagues.  He is patient, kind, honest, organized, detailed oriented, and fun!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with James Deloney and Realty Austin for our very first home purchase. James met with us in person to walk us through the home buying process, helped narrow down exactly what we were looking for and the best neighborhood for us, toured 20+ homes for over a month and looked at 5+ homes over the course of one weekend with us, resulting in our finding the right one!

The most wonderful thing...I was provided with a spreadsheet of how and when things would happen. Why doesn't every agent have this....excellent for a very busy person like me that doesn't want to know all the details just what, when and where. Kept me informed in a timely manner. Listened to my complaining when the closing was delayed by the seller, etc.. And then there was that fab wine & chocolates at closing :)!
